I think this bowl of noodles fall into my top 10 list of BCM in Singapore. So good that I think it deserves a post here. Quality ingredients that make the difference!

Seems like ramen egg with bak chor mee is in the trend right now. Anyways, the Mee Pok was really different from the usual Mee Pok that I have tried. It texture was a little harder with uneven thickness that made itself stood out from the rest of its competitors. It’s minced poor was also slightly over cooked for a tougher texture to chew on. There are really too many bak chor mee to try out these days...

Indulgence Friday. Although the price of $6.80 for this bowl of noodles might put you away a little. All that was needed was one spoonful of the Bak chor to make it all worthwhile. The abalone was fresh, tender and easy to chew off, along with the scallops, they were a luxury to have for eating Bak Chor mee. An interesting twist to it was also the Japanese style egg which I personally felt that was up to those ramen places or even slightly better! The Bak Chor was mushy and the fatty meat was just too shiok! A small slice of carrot was also given and gosh it was sweet and soft, full of delight. The only disappointment was the fried fishball which felt a little oily and too salty. Last but not least, the mee Pok. Noodles were thick and makes one feels it worth, chili was superb, not too spicy, and it was a really good mix! Must eat for Bak Chor Mee lovers!

Visited the stall at the coffee shop thrice to find it twice closed. Finally the uncle tell me it closes at 2.30pm. It is very similar to the one at hill street tai hwa! The small bits of fried flatfish are my favorite and at $4.50 after upsizing, are way more worth it than tai hwa! Overall it's pretty delicious! (Tampines str 21/23 BLK 201C)

Found in a corner of the food republic in wizma atria, this bowl of noodles has everything you need. From juicy mushrooms to fresh dumplings. It is assured of good quality! Pretty much why I always eat at food republic in town!

After a long day of project meetings in town and practical test in school, I walked past the newly set up food republic in shaw lido, had a sudden craving for a bowl of Bak chor mee and there I saw a middle age Aunty and an uncle running this stall at 9.40pm!! Ordered their last bowl for the day and gosh it was so good. A pity though that I could have asked for more chili as it was really good! The ingredients were fresh and well cooked. At $5, I could say that this price is still pocket friendly for the likes of orchard road! After eating I just had to thank the Aunty for providing me such a great late dinner! The smile she had while cleaning the stall was priceless 😊

Another bowl of goodness found at marine terrace. At $4, this bowl of noodles had one of the tastiest fishballs I ever ate. Fresh and springy. It's once of those fishballs that my grandpa used to sell as a fishmonger. The meatballs were delicious, their small pork slices were well marinated as their stall also sells porridge! Overall, if not for their remote location, this is one bowl of noodles I don't mind eating everyday.

Decent chili. Having different noodles for once can be good at times. The fried dumpling wasn't very nice though. Soup was pretty good!

Sweet and savory. If you want a traditional taste of the legendary Bak chor mee and also at the same time not looking for something too spicy, this is the way to to go!
