Mad love for that sweet sour spiced pumpkin sauce.

From Atlas Coffeehouse situated at 6 Duke's Road by the people behind Assembly Coffee. Described as "Glazed Salmon, Soba Noodles, Fried Egg" on the menu, this was a Japanese-inspired dish that replicates pasta. Buckwheat Noodles tossed with a hint of Nori flavour, the noodles were done al-dente while the salmon was well-marinated and carried a savoury, strong grilled flavour though the skin could be perhaps crispier for better texture. What surprised me was the fried egg though; totally crisp on the underside for the white which made it pretty intriguing!
This waffle bar at the basement is just a month old. We tried all eight flavours and both soft serves. My favorite is the Apple Cinnamon one. Some of us liked the chocolate as well as banana ones. The soft serve is icy but really addictive!
Italian bistro and gelateria Chapter 55 (sister to Ice Edge Cafe) has opened up shop in Tiong Bahru, adding to the already extensive list of eateries there. Their fluffy waffles topped with homemade gelato and range of Italian bites and desserts from pastas and pizzas to tiramisus and lava cakes are already drawing in the lunchtime crowd. Their signature gelato waffles ($14-$18.50) may be slightly on the pricey end, but hey - you get what you pay for in quality, with light, fluffy waffles, and rich, flavourful gelato.
(Sorry, already downed half of my flat white by the time my waffles came because I couldn't help myself.) By the way, this café is really new but definitely worth checking out. Their liege waffles with mixed berry compote and apple crisps are fantastic and pretty different from the normal Belgium waffles. Definitely coming back to try out their mains 😊
The newest extension of Habitat Coffee, Top Deck is located just above Habitat! An open space that can be rented for events, they have an interesting way of charging on non-event days! $6 per pax & a coffee on the house, subsequent coffee orders are based on tips only. This would be good for those who would want to sit & chill! Only downside, it is pretty echo-y :/
Noir Art Specialty Coffee is a new hole-in-the-wall cafe that's situated at 23 MacKenzie Road, right beside Madame Patisserie behind Little India MRT. The bakes for now are being supplied, such as this Rose Cheesecake which is light on the cheese and somehow replicates a Tofu Cheesecake, except retaining the smoothness so as to bring out the floral scent of the Rose from within. They have plans to bake their own cakes and pastries in due time to come, and to quote the owner's words, he says that the co-owner's cheesecake is delicious as it is very rich on cheese.
The buttermilk pancake was so yumzzzzz but it was unfortunate that i couldnt eat the cranberries(?) cause i find it weird. Sorry im such a picky eater~~
The runny yolk is just calling for me to poke it! Thanks @revolutioncoffeesg for hosting us and @burpple for coordinating! Had an enjoyable time!
I fall in love with this Lemon Yogurt Cake, a lovely tangy lemony cake that is not too sweet as it has natural yogurt in it. One slice is never enough! It is so wonderful and luscious!
Cinnamon brioche toast with Matcha Puree and Thai Milk Tea icecream. Interesting match. The cinnamon toast itself is quite nice. But the Matcha Puree and Thai Milk Tea icecream can be a little stronger in taste.
