If you're in AMK food centre and thinking of breakfast, please do yourself a favour and head down to this stall. I can't even begin on how much I love their YTF, the soup is boiled down and intense with soybean and ikan bílis. The fish paste in everything is fresh, bouncy and a lot of QQ bite.

Be warned, anything after 11pm is a good 30mins or more waiting time.

Craving for Hainanese curry rice, but not anywhere near the legit ones. This plate is surprisingly able to curb your craving at a decent $4.30. Chicken cutlet, Sofy braised cabbage, and a fried egg, this is quick meal is honestly nothing to shout about, but surprisingly quite endearing. Although I wished they drown my rice in more curry sauce. Great for quick lunches.

White beehoon is seriously all the craze now. Hearty fishbone broth, wok hei fried beehoon, and generous portion of fresh fish slices and of course lala (which were clean out well, no a single grainy but). Fried garlic and fried lard, seal the taste. Great for people within the area, bear in mind about the queue that loads through the night. But the queue go by quite fast. The dish, while looked and smell marvellous, somehow lack something. And I can't quite place what it is. I could be in sufficient ophmm that I had before in a certain restaurant.

I cannot stress how yummy these bowls are. Had them since schooling days, when it wasn't that popular or "famous". That's a good 8-10years ago. And fast forward, the hungry office zombies on the loose during lunch time is insane.
The Thai tom yum base, packed so much punch that you will salivate before the broth touches your lips. You can smell the sour notes of the soup, wetting your already crazy appetite. The normal soup base, is clean and porky great for someone who don't do spices. Let me not get started on the crazily sinful deep fried eggs. Beaten and pour into a wok of oil, this crispy babies added more flavour to the soup! Generous portion of both noodles and ingredients the bowl is good for the hungry lunch crowd, and do take note of the impending crazy queues. Go before or after, to avoid the lack of seating space or crowd.

Braised right through, light in taste actually. No strong smell, means that it's clean right through. The pork belly is tender, with good ratio of meat and fat. The portion is decent for $4.50/pax.
Do note that the place is only open for breakfast; 6.30am - 2.00pm.

Can't go wrong at this place. Strong quick fire fire up, make their dishes, cooked just right. The chicken is nice and tender, isn't dry or do not have the overcooked/undercooked texture. The sesame sauce, is a bit saucier and thicker that most stall I have eaten. The aroma of the sesame oil is present, and it is not oily at all. Best eaten with white rice. Slurp-worthy. The ladyfingers are still crunchy til the last bite. The sauce is a lot milder than I expected. The present of hei bi is notable, and overall addictive. Do note the evening crowd that stretch til 9.30pm, the place will still be packed. So either have some during lunch or pre/after dinner slots.

I don't know about you, but when it comes to Bak Kut Teh, I am all for the herbal, "black" style. Think JB, or better yet think Klang's standard (the home of BKT. I kid you not, they hold annual BKT competition to rank their BKT stores). Thankfully, Soon Huat is within the vicinity for my BKT quick fix. Soon Huat, is somewhat like Malaysian BKT and yet somehow lack the strong porky-herbal broth that I like. It is only good, when you need tea to wash down the BKT. Their dry version, fared better but it would great if it's slightly strongly. The meat portion is fairly generous, what's on the table is enough for 3 pax. And those large intestines are soft and well cleaned out with their slightly thicker braised sauce. Great meal overall, if you are sick of pratas and roti-johns when you are in that area.

One can never get enough of this humble, totally nameless eating house, unless you looked at the signage that is way above, and unlit. Their frogs are nice and huge, firm muscle and utterly tender. The sauce, is nice and thick without being too salty, great for with the plain smooth porridge that you just have to order. They have great BBQ dishes too, such as stingrays and squids. So be sure to come at odd hours or early, for it gets pretty hard to find a parking slot or table when it's peak hours.

Breakfast can't get any better than this! Honestly, cause any other times, it's virtually impossible to have this bowl of goodness for the queue will be endlessly, and most probably you will die trying to get to the finishing line. Their Yong tau foo, are certainly very fresh, with the stuff YTF being refried. The sauce, made in house, which have some patrons asking if they could sell their sauces to them. Only to have the owners firmly reject them. Gritty, but beautifully blended, it is by far one of the more superior sauces I have ever had. Now, don't get me started on the soup broth. Cloudy, and absolutely divine, it painstakingly boil with a lot of ikan bilis and soy beans! So hearty and nutritious that you just have to drink it to the last drop!

My mother's personal Favourite whenever she is in the area to do grocery shopping. The portion for the Mee Siam is generous. It may looked intimidating and spicy, but it is quite the opposite. Tangy with a hint of heat, it's just a perfect breakfast to kickstart your day. And a single popiah on the side, just makes breakfast a full one. Generous with turnips and greens, the store throws in good amount of crunchy bits of peanuts and fried eggs crisp (according to Mother), along side with boiled egg bits, this roll just bursting with every texture, flavour and yumminess.

Just so yummy. The gooey and starchy sauce looked heavy, but isn't as all that you are done with the bowl after a few bites. The sauce coats each strand of noodles lovingly. Filled generously with nionghiang, fish cake slices, meat slices, a piece of fish fish and wanton every bites have something of chew on. Great $2.50 price, but the portion is small (perfect for me). Ma Bo Lor Mee located at Albert Food Centre (Bugis), served better portion, at the same price.

Located right next to a porridge stall, and directly opposite of the steamed food, this store garnered a lot of buzz yesterday for a good steamy bowl of fish soup. Exactly as shown, the bowl is generously filled with fish slices that are thick. Noteworthy to see, seeing how many have already tried to thinly slice their fishes to cut down on portions. The soup base, is light in every sense of a 清汤. And although it's light, somehow you couldn't stop yourself from drinking it to the last drop. The Chili sauce, is a mixture of soy and minced cut chili and probably (and I suspect) a hint of ground garlic Chili combo. The whole meal is delightful on a whole, but isn't the most satisfying yet.
