KBBQ in any sense would never go wrong; a great cut, live cooking, and great panchan. It is pretty much a standardised, never go wrong business. But never in my life have I walked into a straight into a kbbq, where by they control the number of servings (max. 2 servings) of their side dishes & lettuces! I was appalled, and the new owners (singaporean chinese owned), do not give a hoot about service too. The rushed meals, and quick cooking (the meat were raw, when the staff insisted that we have to eat now), left the whole family a bad after taste! I did not enjoy the lack of Korean hospitality, leaving us going off, without ordering seconds. Don’t even get me started on their poorly made panchans. Save your stomachs, don’t bother coming here.
Wonderfully plated, with the chicken being delightfully soft & moist. Silky at its best. The soup, is wonderfully flavoured, I wasn’t expecting the sweet, winter melon soup.
But definitely heavily laden with MSG. I have never felt so thirsty before, make that extremely thirsty! I drown myself with at least 2 bottles of water. It was THAT BAD. I felt like I was in a desert, dying of thirst.
Would I go back again? NEVER.
Gave this a shot, and instantly knew that this plate isn't my Favourite on the menu. The sauce, did not help to mask the fact that the black cod is tough, like rubber-tough. The sauce is on the acidic side, it was only great for a few bites, but I couldn't finish the plate. The crushed potatoes, just make the plating looked messy.
I love the seating arrangement and ambience, and the choice of good Pinot Gris (strong but delicate fruity note was brought out clearly). You know what they say, when you only praise the drinks/coffee. 🙅🏻
Waffles and ice cream, sound so amazing, but in truth isn't that appetising. Somehow that waffle lack the five sensory all round experience. It isn't fragrant, or fluffy, and texture is abit dense and the taste, let's not go there. Generally so underwhelmed.
Sigh pie.
Interesting use of orange ginger butter, that gives the pasta a nice citrus taste. Interesting but somehow not memorable. Can't taste the garlic or the Chilli, so it isn't what the menu describe. The pasta is done well, but the grilled fish is left a little dry. Simply put, this dish is a total miss for me.
Urgh, honestly a waste of money and calories. Bingsu is famed for milky shaved ice. And this is practically just shaved ice. And paying $18 for a bowl of ice is not okay. The mochi are hard, isn't soft like how mochi are supposed to be. Thank god for the nicely toasted almonds and the bloody scorching hot weather, that I managed to finished it. Because sure as hell, I am not letting $18 melt away just like that.
Please tell me how is this dish their "star-dish". I couldn't bring myself to have another bite. The pasta is soggy, the cream Tom Yum sauce is watered-down, those tiny clam meat were mushy. Whoever raved about this plate should be smacked. A total waste of stomach space and calories. Urgh, please remember to work it off after having it.
Sounds interesting, but hardly up to the expectations (if there is any). This sad lifeless dough look so unappealing, that it tasted like how it looks. Almost everything about this dish, is pointless, like those greens sitting on top of the pizza to hide all evidence of a pointless food is a crime.
Very meh, just all that. The chicken pieces were huge, the batter coat is even thicker. The egg did not delicious coat the chicken, and those onions just laid around lonely. Thank goodness, I was extremely hungry, if not I couldn't finish half of the Donburi.
Sounds interesting, looking great too, but utterly unimpressive. The Chili crab sauce/gravy/soup don't taste anything remotely like the gravy that we are used too. Lack of the punch and kick, the only saving grace was probably the small slice of garlic bread. Toasty, buttery and garlicky.
Waste of time. I literally waste my stomach pace a piece of mushy fish? The fish is so under seasoned and the the "garden vegetables" are just sad. Strange tasting and uninviting. Urgh.
I was kind of disappointed in this dish, but couldn't complain because of the really affordable price. $9.90/plate, this Foie Gras is cooked well, but not enough. The liver is not pan-fried enough to have that crisp on the outside, and butter soft on the inside. That contrast is not enough. That apple "chips" should be cooked instead of keeping it raw, as it does not enhance or help the dish. They could have done better.
