Found in the monastery near the big Buddha was these affordable vegetarian food. No fancy dishes, just simple fare for the average. Tasted pretty good for all less than 12 HKD!

The only dish that stood out from the rest. Basically it felt like pineapple bun with char siew in it. It was quite a good mix of juicy char siew and a crispy bun. Not gonna queue for it again though!

Different seafood were put into different steam pots and stacked onto one steamboat stove. The result of that was having the flavors of the crabs, clams, shrimps and many more dripping back down to the steamboat broth. It was sweet and savory, the steamed seafood was also fresh and delicious. 2 pax set at 399 HKD. 4 pax 599 6 pax 799. Must eat for seafood lovers!

It was a make-your-own chirashi don at Hong Kong's supermarket named 一田. The sashimi felt really fresh and somehow the quality was much better than what Singapore's supermarkets can offer. Japanese food in Hong Kong feels really good. I wonder what would I feel when I finally get to Japan one day.

The whole place was exposed to yellow lighting as they wanted to create the Taiwanese classroom feel. Situated in kwun tong, a place full of industrial buildings, it was hidden in a corner where you need to walk through the heavy vehicles car park just to reach its doors to find it. The journey was worth it for the ambience and the service. However the food was pretty average and maybe I didn't order the right dish, as they had quite a large offering of Taiwanese food in its lengthy old school menu. A place worth visiting again when I get back to HK!

We had the strawberry and honey creme brûlée flavor during a promotion in the mtr station. The puff felt a little too oily and stiff. Wasn't a big fan of puffs but this was still okay. However at around 4 sgd during non promotional periods, this is a bit pricey for an "okay" puff

15 HKD - the texture of this dish was just amazing. The Chee Chong Fun was soft and chewy while the fried doughs provider the crispy feel along with the sinful sesame sauce. A unique combination not found in Singapore, must eat again next time!

Basically a gigantic muah chee wrapping a big ball of red bean covered in white flour. Quite tasty and I am sure most people find that one is very much enough.

I ate this to have a better comparison to ichiran's but it was same same but different different. Both are good in their own ways but one just can't find a way to describe it. Ichiran is definitely better with its unique soup taste but this Butao ramen would win with its crazy big pork slices. Their menu options were pretty similar except that one would have more choices in Butao, you are even able to choose whether coriander or cabbage is to used for the ramen! At $85 HKD, this provides a better deal for the wallet conscious as the generous meat and ramen would certainly get one full!

After watching TV In Singapore recommending this place I went ahead against my friend's warning that this was nothing fanciful to try this dish. Boy, I was indeed disappointed, the claypot rice was not even worth taking a photo and this was just oil and oyster. I heard the opposite stall sells the oyster better and I had better listened to people's advice when it comes to oyster!

Having frens who strongly recommend this place I had to check this place out myself. It was the ramen that is the best of its kind to me. I chose the correct texture of the noodles and it was damn good! The soup base along with its special sauce were full of flavor. Despite regretting ordering 2x chili sauce I still enjoyed my ramen very much. At 89HKD, this won't fill your stomach but it certainly does make one feels dam satisfied with the taste of their food! Service was real awesome along with their special "clear" water which was refreshing and easy to refill. I would recommend the booth type of sitting to have the full Ichiran experience!

$28 HKD wonton mee. I was too early to eat those solid wanton mee nearby so I just settled for the neighborhood ones. Well 4 wontons were considered as plenty here in hk and I won't consider it really good. So just a 2.5/5, don't recommend eating here again as I found some unwanted stuff in the soup too :/
