Chinatown: Cantonese Breakfast Delights

Chinatown: Cantonese Breakfast Delights

After all the cafe hopping, I always go back to where my roots are, Cantonese breakfast delights.

Good morning, burpplers! This is how I start my weekend, rolling out of bed at 7am and getting down to chinatown to make my belly happy. The place is mostly filled with mummys and daddys buying breakfast for their children after marketing or old ladies and uncles that can sit for hours over their coffee. This is the closest you get to the Cantonese roots, not the atas way but close to my heart.

How can I miss a close up of those ikan bilis? Here you go, burpplers! Have a good weekend and hearty breakfast! I just did, burp!

Now now now, this is what I woke up early on a weekend to queue for. This is the best YTF, ever. The queue starts at 8-ish. The early bird catches the worm ;) warm my tum tum!

Reads: Ju-yok-zok (cantonese). Here comes the main! Smooth and warms my tummy :) but definitely can't beat those in hk.

This is the starter for porridge, cause it's normally a long waaaaait. Can't miss the chili padi to go with this Chinese style sashimi.

芋头糕 x 猪肠粉 = perfect marriage. This stall also has the longest queue. Don't say I never warn you!

I like my Cheong Fan simply done, just sesame and soya sauce. That's how a typical Cantonese have their Cheong Fan for breakfast. This stall serves the best Cheong Fan! Soft and smooth texture. You gotta be there early, the queue starts even before 9am, and closes before lunch. Go go go!
