Nice place to chill, enjoy a nice book with your choice of delicious dessert.

Super cool place to meet. Music place nicely at background allowing conversation to take place. The crowd is fantastic as well, having softly spoken conversation. We had the Mexican salad and the Cuban chicken sandwich.

I love the pau and pork ribs here. It's super and value for money.

Located behind the popular Simpang Bedok Food Centre, Badoque Cafe is a great place for a casual Western dinner with your friends. Known for their huge portions, get the Beef Ribs to share - tender, lip-smacking ribs you'll be glad you ordered. If you're feeling in the mood for some fish instead, go for the Mermaid's Tears. *Not Halal-certified, but Halal kitchen & suppliers

A cosy spot under a Bedok HDB flat suitable for young families and groups of friends, To-gather Cafe truly is a place to gather. With really reasonable prices, you can get Chocolate Lava cake ($3.80) and a coffee, or a dinner of tasty Grilled Pandan Chicken Chop ($8.90). Along with great ambience and service, there's no reason you shouldn't drop by this lovely cafe if you live nearby. Photo by Elaine Koh

With an obvious passion for serving the freshest food, you'll be guaranteed a wholesome, seductive meal of Nordic goodness, starting with freshly-baked rye and sourdough breads at Gaest. Go for the roast pork sandwich, or the salt-boiled potato sandwich for an unbelievable tasty vegetarian option, or any of their salads. This relatively new cafe oozes oodles of industrial-chic goodness, complete with the original Telok Ayer Chung Hwa Free Clinic store front. Dig into My Awesome Salad ($15), which comes with a generous portion of greens, smoked salmon, avocado, chicken breast, duck rilettes and tomatoes for a healthy lunch break. Alternatively, come by for a couple of Happy Hour pints after work! Photo by Votrex Tan

Serving huge portions, be sure to share your food here at Gold Food. With most dishes priced below $10, this value-for-money Thai restaurant is great for some mango salad, green curry and tom yam. Located conveniently in Sunshine Plaza, it's a great hidden gem for cheap, tasty Thai food in town.

For good dim sum sold at coffeeshop prices, many come here for their super-flowy liu sha bao, but items such as the siew mai or har kow may not be up to restaurant standards. Also try their steamed beancurd roll and steamed carrot cake. Bear in mind it's located in an eating house, so don't expect comforts!
