One of them - Sambal kang kong and prawns, using homemade lard oil. This delicious lard oil was infused with some aromatics(check out my Ig story). Very very spicy and shiok!

Major #throwback to my solo JB trip half a year ago. Finally, I was "diligent" enough to explore out of my comfort zone and took a cab to this old school family-owned zi char coffeeshop. Love the steamed kampung chicken, wild caught sea prawns and red grouper fish head! All the dishes are cooked fresh everyday and seasoned adequately. #HighlyRecommended

No drama-mama reasons - mainly because work(grateful and thankful to God for that) has been taking up much of my time since the beginning of the year, with all the festive and birthday celebrations lined up in consecutive weeks. Thus, I think I need sleep and rest more than instagramming. 😴😅 .

That being said, I'm still cooking almost every day and baking very frequently. As for food adventures, I have not been exploring much because of the limited time on hand. That makes me really appreciate the places I visit regularly and not take them for granted. 🤗

Of course, I do miss #EileenOnePanSeries! Watercress and clam broth is what I have been craving for the whole day due to the wet weather. Chili padi is a MUST ok! Haha!

Here I am at @prodigalroasters trying the freshly-made pasta dishes from the pop-up counter (only available from 24 Feb to 26 Feb, limited to 15 portions for each flavour each day).
Burnt broccoli and cream pasta, topped with fermented onion(not shown here).
Home-cured pork belly and caramelized cabbage, topped with special spice mix. YES TO THIS!!
Ended the meal with a long black, miso cheese tart, raspberry frangipane tart and pizza quiche. 🤗

I had the honour of taking on more commercial and private photography projects as well(of which I never expect, especially with only 119 posts 😅). Hope to have more of such opportunity in 2017!

The first place I rushed to was Hiap Joo Bakery to queue for their bread which was out at 10am. I bought the Otah bread and Ikan Bilis bread. If I remember rightly, the filling used to be more substantial and generous.
Their Thursday-only(7.30am onwards) butter and coffee cakes were already sold out by the time I reached. BOO HOO. 😪 Anyway, HJ banana cake taste best after one night! So I 打包 6 boxes home for friends and family! 🙆🏻🙆🏻

😂😂 White chocolate miso ice cream(served with a long strip of seaweed) - a very interesting flavor combination created by @lennardy. Love the crispiness and savoriness of the seaweed for the inviting textural contrast. Go before December ends! Of course, one scoop is never enough.
