Excellent grade of beef cooked medium rare, topped with shaven Parmesan, with a side of arugula and fresh tomatoes with pesto are winning combinations, resulting in this perfect dish. I was in heaven- who knew beef and cheese could go so well together? Second time here and looking forward to my next visit again.

West siders rejoice! 🎉 This charming, rustic, authentic Italian restaurant sits on the second level of the newly opened HillV2. Upon entering, I was awed by the ambience, furnitures and up till the heavy copper utensils that I was contemplating to shamelessly ask whether I could bring one set home, but obviously I didn't 😂 A couple of the staff there are Italians - extra cheese points! We ordered bruschetta with cooked ham and stracchino cheese, pizza with parma ham and rocket leaves, crispy golden seafood in semonila crumb, baked eggplant parmigiana and slow-braised lamb ragout gracchiette. They were all equally delicious, each with its own distinct flavour, but I enjoyed the lamb ragout pasta and the baked eggplant best! I'm looking forward to my next meal there and that includes trying one of my favourite Italian dessert: cannoli. One word to describe this place: Fantastico!

This relaxing restaurant specialises in crêpes. I tried the "Coco Chanel"- yes, you read that right - which consists of dark chocolate, sliced almonds, poached pears and the lightest chantilly cream. The crêpe is slightly chewy and the ingredients compliment each other nicely with the different textures and flavours. Shall go back soon to try their savoury ones!

Nestled away from the bustling city, this restaurant serves one of the best Italian cuisine I've ever tasted. The Italian cold cuts are paper thin, but full of flavour and not too salty. Do order the fist-sized burrata (not stated in the menu though). Slightly tough on the exterior, but super creamy once sliced. Smear this goodness on freshly made focaccia, drizzle quality extra virgin olive oil, top it with Parma ham, arugula and organic cherry tomatoes. Ahh, such magic to devour on. *wipes drool*

Entering this cafe is like being transported back to Paris. This cafe serves up a hearty variety of tartines to choose from, two types of cold platters, salads, desserts and a large selection of alcohol. My friend and I shared a duck cold platter, with each rillette, pâte etc being so flavourful when paired with rye bread; and also an eggplant caviar with ham and ricotta tartine. We were also served complimentary rose wine as it was ladies' night on Wednesday! Mmm, perfect pairing! You know where to head to if anyone asks, "Qu'allez vous manger ce soir?"

Nestled among the rows of double-storey shop houses lie a restaurant which serves excellent English food. The menu is simple, small and thoughtfully curated. My friend and I ordered roasted pork belly and roasted chicken, both with the same condiments of mashed potato and root vegetables. The Brit chef mistaken our order and served us pan-seared salmon instead of the roasted pork. However, he was extremely generous to have the roasted pork on the house for us (extra mashed potato points for graciousness!) and quickly whipped up the salmon. All 3 dishes were equally delightful: from the soft tender pork, to the crispy skin and juicy meat of the chicken, to the fish seared to perfection and the smooth mousse-like mashed potato. We also tried the lemon poussin, a classic British dessert and it was very refreshing! This restaurant changes their menu daily, so we know where to head to if we want to get an English fix! 🇬🇧

Seated outdoors in the dark and surrounded by plenty of French, you know this double storey restaurant means business. I love how their food were served in such a homely affair. Prior to our arrival, I pre-ordered the recommended côté de bœuf. The medium rare beef (I adore that blush of pink!) was succulent and juicy. Served together with this dish were braised onions and garlic, a small casserole of potato gratin and salad dressed in vinaigrette. My family and I also ordered pâte, rillette, saucisson, beef tartare and the most amazing salmon tartare which was mixed with lemon sorbet. Two words to describe their food: très délicieux! Who says incredible French food can only be found in fine-dining restaurants?
