Located across Pinnacle @ Duxton (nearest MRT is Outram MRT Station), this gorgeous cafe decked out in hexagonal marbled tiles, rose gold finishings and modern wood panels serves tasty brunch items that we would definitely return for. Seats fill up pretty quickly on weekends, so swing by early with your friends. You must order the crowd favourite Populus Scramble ($17.50) that sees creamy scrambled eggs and feta chunks stuffed into a buttery croissant, spiced with sliced red chillies. Don't be fooled by the compact portion size, which belies how filling the combination is. For something healthier, go for the Pulled Pork Grain Bowl ($18), one of three grain bowls available. It's our favourite of the lot, considering how tender and well-seasoned the meat is. Served with a trio of quinoa, bulgur wheat and pearl barley, the well-balanced and nutritious bowl also comes loaded with lots of vegetables like mushrooms, tomatoes and pumpkin. End your meal with one of their excellent coffees made with a house blend of beans from El Savaldore, Guatemala and Brazil. If you like your coffee milky but strong, go for their Magic ($5.50). If not, ask the friendly baristas for recommendation on their Filter Coffee (from $6)!
Avg Price: $25 per person

The purple of the sweet potato purée is just divine against its snowy backdrop of finely shaven ice, dotted only with the maroon of red beans. Providing different textures are chewy pillows of red bean mochi, crunchy almond slices, and three pieces of dehydrated red date.
We found windowsill pies at pasarbella last weekend! This is lime and vodka pie..was so good that we went back and bought two others - lemon & strawberry and the banana almond brittle pie. So so good.
An unfortunate change of plans due to last minute arrangements found myself fortunately ending up here to try what everyone's been talking about. Old Hen is pretty known for their Cold Brews which comes in these pretty bottles! They were only left with the White brews, which I must say is really creamy and milky. It also has a sort of malty-sweetness in it; pretty intriguing I must say!
Forget the cupcake craze... We're going crazy for tarts! Equipped with an arsenal of scrumptious sweet and fruity tarts, Tart is ready to take the world by storm with their perfectly balanced, firm-base treats. Mini tarts, large tarts, with flavours like matcha azuki, cookies & cream, and of course classics topped with fresh fruit - we can't get enough! From the number of times we've mentioned 'tart', I think you get the idea.
If you are the one who can't miss out on hipster cafes, Craftsmen would be the place of your choice to chill especially with its industrial theme. If the orange cups look similar, that's because they are affiliated to Dutch Colony Coffee from Pasarbella. Not really a fan of their rather light-bodied coffee but it definitely has the potential of being an uprising cafe.
I've got my eye on this promising two-month-old cakes and desserts shop, run by a single lady, Yvette. She's an ex-teacher with no professional culinary background, though she did spend four months at Michelin-starred molecular gastronomy outfit, Bo Innovation. What's mindblowing is her creativity paired with the technique to pull off her ideas. She actually took inspiration from the completely unappetizing smell of ignited joss sticks in Macau's temples, and turned it into this one-of-a-kind dessert of whipped milk pudding and fine biscuit crumble trapped with an aromatic puff of smoke from burning wood chips. Can someone say, genius?!
The new space is brighter and bigger. Coffee's still good as usual.
