Places/Things To Try
[$12] Here my friend, is an order worth trying. The ratio of egg to toast and the duration to prep this was on point, every bite just left me wanting more ๐
Every bite was complimented well with the sweetness from the fruits and maple syrup! #perfectmatch
Even Minion Bob wants a share of it ๐

Literally came all the way here just to taste [and snap, of course] some of these.
To make this simple, here's what I think: Best part, it's runny [and cheap]. Worst part, it's runny.

I mean, Since it's like an on-the-go thing - you can't help but thinking 'how am i supposed to eat this? Like slurp the filling?' But then, where else can you get fancy-runny-dessert at this price? So go ahead and join the 'Q'..!

My latte was born of the quirkily/naughtily named "Chocolate Starfish" (go google it), a 50/50 blend of beans from Costa Rica and Papau New Guinea. It was sultry and smoky and everything your mother warned you about ;)
But seriously, Pav, the friendly owner of this new-ish cafe used to be a co-owner of Sarnies at Telok Ayer. So when it comes to coffee, I think it's safe to say you're in very good hands.
The heisenburger came recommended and was served within minutes with a knife stuck into the centre of the burger. Points for presentation and looks but the burger patty unfortunately didn't work out for me. It fell into a crumbly mess with every cut/ bite. The sweet potato fries were a welcome surprise. :) the chicken roulade had a stuffing that wasn't cooked through enough and could do with a little bit more seasoning. It's definitely a healthier choice on the menu though!
Unique up-cycled furniture, mismatched chairs, wooden tables and one-of-a-kind standing lamps give newly opened Aeiou nothing but character. Currently in their soft launch phase and set to officially open on 11 Jan, don't let the lack of a full menu deter you from checking this cafe out pronto. With adorably quaint furniture and an unbelievably laid-back vibe, this is one perfect place to stop by for an iced avocado coffee or simple black brew served in a repurposed vodka bottle. Novelty right there,
Two thumbs up for these fluffy waffles crisped brown on the surfaces, as well as for the ice creams โ the hazelnut, sweet and Kinder Bueno-ish, was a great combination with the slightly sour strawberry cheesecake, smooth and rich with bits of buttery crumble.
The layered sponge cake is filled and topped with whipped cream and strawberry slices that are not too sweet. This old-fashioned cake is soft and moist, but just a little too fine and feathery, it will be perfect if the texture can be more sponge-cake-like shortcake.
The French toast at Maison Ikkoku is served either with fresh berries, or sea salt caramel. Two large pieces of toast drenched generously with sea salt caramel, topped with roasted walnuts, caramelised bananas and mascarpone cream cheese with a cinnamon-coated orange. If you like sweet desserts, this will be perfect for sharing! Photo by C G.
If you're approaching French Toast as a dessert, this one will satisfy you. Served as 2 slices of brioche stuffed with bananas and drenched in maple syrup, vanilla yoghurt and blueberries, this is sweet and decadent without being too heavy. The texture and portion is perfect, definitely a must order! Photo by Gavin Chan.
Already known for their great brunch items, such as their Flan (which you should get before these waffles), Symmetry also nails the waffle. At $14, bananas, strawberries, peanut butter, hazelnut chocolate, maple syrup and vanilla ice cream sit atop crispy, fluffy waffles. Get an extra scoop of blueberry ice cream for a near-perfect dish!
