Made from soya beans and mushrooms, the patties here do not contain gluten, dairy and eggs. Yes, you are skeptical. You probably think that sounds awful, but the Creamy Shrooms Burger ($7.90) at VeganBurg has successfully convinced many-a-carnivore that vegan burgers can be really, really good. With seaweed fries and spinach pops on the side, you're gonna leave with a full stomach and a guilt-free conscience. Also, it's Halal! Don't be selfish, carnivores, if your vegan friend wants a burger, show them some love and give this a try!
Short stack (3 stack): chocolate chip pancakes with vanilla ice cream, marshmallows and chocolate sauce.
Pretty filling food! There's set lunch/dinner, really affordable IMO, for a cafe especially! And what's best? It's halal! Will definitely come back.
Eggs Benedicts and Turkish Eggs (?) I think for Brunch! It was hella good. Accompanied with some hot chocolate.
Crunchy red velvet waffles, with choc syrup and vanilla ice cream. Nice but not up to my expectation. Overall is good with environment/ music to go with the desserts.
This 90-seater space sets you in the perfect mood for a lovely Indonesian meal, making it a great space for a date night or family dinner. Your meal will be affordable, and full of flavor. *Halal-certified
For a good bowl of beef noodles or tasty pad thai, you'll be satisfied at Thaksin's. Don't expect bells and whistles at this coffeeshop, it serves decent food at reasonable prices. The soup here light, and the beef is tender and served with lots of fresh herbs. A great place for a quick dinner! *Halal-certified
If you're in the Suntec area, Sofra's is a great alternative lunch choice. Go for one of their reasonable set meals, or order a la carte and share a few of their generously portioned dishes. Start with the refreshing Sofra Salad - spiced vegetables with herbs and walnuts. Indulge in the Sultan Kebab, spiced lamb with baked cheese and mashed potato, or the Adana Kebab, a mix of beef and lamb mince cooked over fire. This is a great place for group outings too! *Halal-certified
Located behind the popular Simpang Bedok Food Centre, Badoque Cafe is a great place for a casual Western dinner with your friends. Known for their huge portions, get the Beef Ribs to share - tender, lip-smacking ribs you'll be glad you ordered. If you're feeling in the mood for some fish instead, go for the Mermaid's Tears. *Not Halal-certified, but Halal kitchen & suppliers
Pop by for a hot, melting sandwich of oozing cheese and slices of beefsteak sandwiched between crusty bread, and a serving of one of the best cheese fries (Torpedo Fries) around. Go for the vegetarian or chicken options if you're not a fan of beef, but don't miss out on the fries no matter what. Yellow Submarines is a good place for a fast, casual dinner with friends. *Halal-certified
Bumbu serves an a la carte buffet menu for just under $20 in an incredibly beautiful shophouse that makes you feel like you're in a friend's home. Bring the whole family for a Thai-Indonesian feast that won't burn a hole in your pocket, or order off the menu if you're on a date. Nailing classic dishes like tahu telor, beef rendang, and pandan leaf chicken, you really get the best of Thai-Indo cuisine here. The ambience really is a winner! *Halal-certified
This gorgeously whimsical shop is bound to put you in a good mood with its unique decor and colorful walls. Actually a shop by a French design company, La Marelle also doubles up as a perfect cafe hideout on the second floor along Baghdad St. For a hot bite, go for the stuffed croissant, and finish off with a cup of coffee and a Windowsill pie. *Not Halal-certified, but Halal supplier
