Slurp Worthy, Ramen
Shio Ramen (small: $11.50); Iām loving the thick creamy pork broth, drizzled with roasted white sesame, and everything in between. A tad on the oily side, but Iām not complaining. The noodles are chewy. And the slice of pork is well seasoned and grilled to perfection. The ratio of meat and fats is great, bringing out the best in texture, taste, and flavour.
I'm slow in catching onto the trend, but since a Friend insisted that the broth is worth the queue, I simply had to go for it.
The broth, is indeed thick, flavourful and extremely heartwarming. Come with a slice of tender chicken breast and the usual pork charsiew, bamboo shoot and all, I wouldn't say that it's worth that nearly 1hr wait. But situated in the heart of CQ, it will be perfect for that after drinks hunger.
A generous scoop of minced pork, a perfectly good runny eggs, and oh-so-nicely done noodle (al dente), got me all sold with goodness is a singular bowl. The broth done to according to your preference, and taking it normal (as it is) is just so yummy. Deep pork bone flavour, that is so rich that you had to finish it to the last drop. With seasoned beansprout on the side, that you can pair them with the bowl you are having. Or simply just have it on its own as a starter is seriously good. The ramen noodles are nice and chewy, done to however you like. Perfect lunch bowl
Choose udon over ramen, just cause I love the thick doughy noodles, that is chewy! Their udon, is chewy alright, except it's as thin as the ramen. Interesting, making me wonder where in the world they found such udon (clearly I was not a fan of it). The black garlic oil, is just for visual. Nothing absolutely tasty or nice-smelling from the oil, that just drown out any possible colour, that this bowl have to offer. Their soup base is tasteless, obviously the broth is not simmered long enough for that deep bone flavour. Their only saving grace are probably the nice charred pork belly on the side, and the uber soft and legit ajitsuke tamago. Thankfully it's just $7, but still it's a crime to have bad food.
The ramen noodles suspiciously looked and tasted like nissin ramen maggi mee. I would know, seeing how I would have it on an almost daily basis, before work. The pork broth, is hearty but lacking. Everything about it is subpar, so go for it if you need something quick, and lack of any queue.
One of the better ones in Singapore, in a Long time. Now there is no need to travel to Tanjong Pagar for my ramen fix, when Shin-Sapporo is in Orchard Gateway! Extremely robust, thick pork broth, that's is milky and fragrant. With that black garlic oil over it, makes the bowl even more mouth-watering! If you like spicy, throw in the usual of Chili oil and Chili flakes. And if you want some crunch, Shin-Sapporo have a side of very well deep fried garlic slices, that is not overpowering that you will knock out the vampire with a single breath. It's enhance the bowl of ramen and give everything another dimensional texture. The ramen noodles are well cooked, al dente and very springy. Everything about this bowl is like Raymonda, Classic at its best.
Love wanton Mee, and love Japanese ramen/soba? Well this dish is for you!! The sake dark sauce, mimic the Favourite and heavily franchised "Pontian", except this is definitely better. Although, this bowl is meant to be dry, the noodles definitely not! So slurps worthy, and tastebuds stimulating! The sake is present, but definitely not as heavy as the soupy version! Those noodles are so springy, that they could be used as yoyo-strings. Generous on the ingredients, and visually stunning. So tell me, what's not to like?
All alcohol lovers out there, if you need food and alcohol in a single bowl, this is the place to be. Thick Tonkotsu soup base, doused in strong and fragrant sake, makes the soup delightful and simply slurp worthy! I am so glad that, Sake ramen is not a gimmick, and they are generous. So extremely generous, that My heart skipped a beat. The ramen noodles soaked in sake, and cooked at the right done-ness of making the ramen springy with a good bite to it. The Charsiew are gorgeously charred, and that egg is just oh-so-runny. š
Thick and heartwarming, the soup was quite slurp worthy to me . This ramen joint is quite impressive but I wouldn't say it's one of the better ones. The noodles are nice and springy and the chasu were well cooked, but something is lacking here. Probably it was the egg that didn't meet up to my expectation of a perfectly cooked ajitsuke egg.
Another slurp worthy. Nothing pretentious about this huge bowl of thick broth with way too much ramen. Done right, with a good bite, each mouthful was heavenly. The only downside was the charsiew, not enough for this big bowl. PS: great for men/big eaters.
Slurp worthy. But not great, but it's good enough to finish everything. But charging me for water, now that's distasteful.
One of the better ramen joint in Singapore. The little place, is sells only that what they know best, ramen in three different style. And while they have 3 styles, their soup style and all the minor details likes, the thickness of your soup, to the amount of chicken oil. And finally, the all important texture of your noodles. Every bowl coming out is different, to suit every different person's need. Love this place!
