Pressed flat, with Crispy Burnt Ends, Wok Hei (the essence of the wok) & the eggs are just added perfection. There's a reason why is this a hit with locals, foreigners & foodies alike. 😋

ACAMAS-THOUGHTS & GTK💮: Ever since it moved to a new location in a more comfortable, brightly lit & air conditioned area. It somehow lost the touch & charm it once had at the old location. 📍
The food no doubt still tastes the same (thank god & the price as well) but the atmosphere changed. Somehow for me, it tasted better back in the more 'colourful' part of the ever glittery Geylang. Location & Atmosphere really play a critical role. 🖖🏻
Now operated by the daughter, I have been chomping down their "hum jin peng" (they sell this and only this) since the father's time. Believe it or not, one piece used to cost only 10 cents back then but prices have risen slightly to 6 for $1 (or 3 for 70 cents). They offer two types - salty and sweet. I personally find it hard to discern them by sight but I think the sweet one has got more sesame seeds and subtle dark patches on it (this is due to the red bean paste inside).
What gives this stall an extra special touch is the long wooden chopsticks provided for customers to help with the frying. The lady owner is usually busy cutting and rolling out the dough before dropping them into the deep pan of hot oil. So it falls on the customer, especially during peak periods, to give a hand with the frying of their own order, flipping the "hum jin peng" over as they puff up to get a nice even golden-brown colour. This clever teamwork helps the queue to move along faster as well. A win-win situation.
Sadly, I think their brunch or lunch menu is more appealing. Perhaps I should have their beef instead? Haha! #burpple #singaporeinsiders #eatoutsg

This stall on the second level of the hawker centre serves a tasty version of the classic sliced fish soup. Theirs has a generous amount of thinly-sliced bitter gourd and julienned fresh ginger. There is also quite a nice garlicky taste to the clear soup. Available in $3, $5 and $8, you have the option of adding fish eggs for $1 (but these run out quite fast so go early if you fancy some). They also have other types of fish soups made with pomfret or garoupa fish head.

This Braised Duck before shifted to Hong Lim Hawker it was located at Old Thong Chai Hospital Building Food Court. The Entire old hospital was abolished no choice the stall owner had to shift to Hong Lim Hawker in 1980s. I can say the Braised Duck is tender not too hard nor soft. Beside selling braised duck the stall still sell kway chap with Pig Intestine etc. The Stall owner took abt 3 to 5 just to braised the whole duck. Fyi their Lor Gravy is salty. Best is go with white rice. The Stall will closed Early once the whole braised duck sold out while stock last.

The yam paste is smooth and slightly sweet. The sweet potatoes and ginkgo nuts are great too. The price is 3.00 dollars for one serving. Overall, a 4/5 rating. A must try if you like to eat yam paste!
Triple Chocolate Brownies ($35) from @luciacakes.singapore are like the best cure to any moody days.
These perfectly baked babies have a light flaky top yet with super rich, dense and moist body, finished off with gooey white chocolate bits.
Diet probably starts tomorrow (again 😂).
One of the best Ba Chor Mee that I've had 😍 tangy noodles, good sauce base and meat cooked to perfection. Really good! And at just $3, super value for money!
Back here for the 2nd time after getting seats using Teppei's new online reservation system at www.tiny.cc/teppei! It's so much more convenient and fuss-free, plus it's a live system hence updates are made immediately. Seats for the month opens for reservations the month before. Check out Teppei on Facebook for more details!
@riinns and I were lucky (although it required some kind of strategy too 😎) to be assigned the best seats right in the middle, where we got to watch all the cooking action! Pictured here is 12 out of the 18 items we had and my favourites were the negitoro roll, sashimi, torched uni with tuna belly and 4 types of nigiri. Everything, especially the sashimi was so fresh and packed with their natural sweetness and flavours. The best part of all though was the whole vibe and atmosphere with Teppei-san's playful way of interacting with diners.
Do take note that Teppei's omakase now has only one option of $80++ per pax instead of the choice of 3 different price points.
