I'm in #Truffle Heaven! Pan-seared Hokkaido Scallop wrapped in Pancetta with Truffled Angel Hair #Pasta & Caviar Sauce. #love
Homemade Tagliatelle tossed with scallops and prawns in TRUFFLE cream sauce 😱
The inaugural Singapore Restaurant Month has kicked off, and if you're pondering over which of the 50 participating restaurant brands to show some love to, consider Portico, which is helmed by one of my favourite local chefs, @nixonisticalism.
Together with his team, he has come up with a 5-course set menu priced at just S$50++ (get the SG50 reference?), including this inspired laksa risotto dish that highlights Pulau Ubin's very own seabass in the form of a homemade fishcake. The main body of the dish, the risotto, comprises quinoa, barley and orzo – a mix of grains that provides varying degrees of bite. Giving balance are a laksa leaf pesto, homemade laksa and a delightful coconut foam, while impeccably grilled prawns and crispy tau pok complete the dish.
Kudos to the very talented Chef Nixon Low for never failing to blow my mind with his creative and contemporary interpretations of all-time favourites, always pushing the envelope without taking well-loved flavours too far out of context.
Located near United square. Shared among two people: Meat consisted of Rosemary chicken (wonderfully tender and juicy), well-done steak (pretty average), pork (comparatively less flavourful) and sausages (a tad salty but didn't taste gamey). Loved the sliced portobello mushrooms and corns to lighten things up. I will wanna come back to try the pizzas! Pizzas looked very good. Warm friendly service.
Can't remember the Italian name for this dish but this is great! Christmas dinner with love at Bella Pasta after Burpple Italian food guide. So many clams and it's very filling.
Housed in a beautifully restored colonial building along Scotts Road, contemporary fine dining restaurant Buona Terra is a luxuriously furnished enclave that exudes a promise to wine and dine your companion to seventh heaven. Warm lighting dances along the restaurant; setting the mood (it’s all very romantic, indeed). Adorned with porcini mushrooms and exquisite seasonal black truffle, the homemade casoncelli ($36) is filled with cheese that dissolves into buttery richness in the mouth. Just one of the many delicate dishes you’d be hankering after.
This. Is. The. Bomb. Nevermind that it can get a little too heavy after five bites, because those first five bites are enough to knock you out from bliss. The port-infused sauce of cream and tomatoes is rich and jam-packed with flavour, while shreds of tender pulled pork add a toothsome bite to the linguine. I want to eat this. NOW!
