Newly open cafe in CBD area in Tanjong Pajar. Great ambience and cozy place to chill out. They serve Ice cream gelato and crispy buttery waffles. Yummy!!! 👍

One of my all time favourite cakes!

It had been listed to be one the comfort food for the teenagers nowadays. But who would like to have a cold ice cream plated with a freshly "baked" waffle, especially on a hot day?? Their ice cream was very creamy and thick. It could only be achieve if the ice cream had less than 30% air. Thus more milk/cream was needed, higher food cost!
The waffle was crisp on the outside and fluffy in the inside. The instant the waffle hit the tongue, I could smell the strong aroma of egg + butter. If only, the waffle was bigger. 😬

One cup of all purpose flour + One cup of butter milk and one egg = my prefect waffle. Don't over mixed the batter and remember to let it rest. Add more butter milk if the batter is too thick.

The old benches and their authentic cutlery creates a lovely ambience for a peaceful afternoon. Don't miss out on their Passionfruit Meringue Tart- a perfect balance of sweet and tart.

Tucked away at the beginning of Duxton road, Department of Caffeine is an edgy coffee joint with an industrial-chic groove and a cosy homely vibe. Those with a sweet tooth will love the Buttermilk Waffles with Butter Rum Bananas and French Toasts Maple Syrup Bananas. Caffeine-addicts can enjoy a full-bodied perk-me-up with specialty coffee beans from Australian roaster Five Senses, while tea enthusiasts have a good range of choices from homegrown tea specialist Tea Bone Zen Mind. *Brunch available on weekends only!

Finally managed to snag a table after 30 minutes of waiting, and this heavenly creation didn't disappoint. The gula melaka soft-serve was too sweet after a couple of mouthfuls, but it did have that burnt caramel flavour that made it very fragrant. The pillowy waffles, crisp on the outside and comfortingly gooey inside, were just perfect, as were the chewy, half-melted cubes of toasted marshmallows.
