Crab roe sauce, uni, ebi, topped with a Japanese egg yolk (200+ THB) - so good on it’s own, and also very amazing with rice. Other dishes at this place is also incredible. Bangkok is really upping their Japanese food game!
These Teppen omakase mini donburis are literally packed to the brim with fresh seafood goodness. Pictured is the ebi don (359 baht) topped with uni (299 baht) and an astakild egg. The quality of the egg is really different from your average egg - the yolk is denser, thicker, and much richer; when mixed in with the ebi and uni, it makes for a fanatically creamy sauce that compliments it really well. They are pretty generous with the ebi, which is fresh and plump and has a light seasoning that really allows the sweetness of the prawns to shine through. Although it may seem really small, one bowl will be enough to fill you up and is already pretty satisfying.
There's something comforting about eating multiple small bowls of Thai noodles of various flavours. Each bowl of noodles cost 18 baht ($0.70) and is quite a small portion, so the way to eat it is to order many bowls or various flavours. Ranging from tom yum to pork-based broth, it makes for an interesting meal that isn't to costly after ordering enough to fill you up (5-7 bowls depending on your appetite). Worth giving a try after shopping at Platinum mall!
Thailand's version of wanton mee. The soup was quite light, but a bit too bland. Overall, a hearty bowl of noodles but nothing spectacular. Worth trying to get a taste of their street food. Only 50 baht which comes to about $2.
Thailand's version of char kway teow. Everyone loves a good plate of phad thai. If you should come to Platinum Mall in Bangkok, you can get a pretty good plate for only $3 at their food court on level 6. It is slightly wet, but in a good way. The seafood is pretty fresh too!
