Why go through the trouble of peeling crabs when you can have the best part of Chilli Crab - the sauce - together with large succulent prawns that have already been peeled for you. This version of chilli crab sauce is particularly rich and redolent with spiciness, perfect together with the house golden brown fried mantous(50 cents each / min. order of 4).
Thanks @burpple for the invite and @enjoyeatinghouse for the hospitality!

Finally back at Long Ji to properly try their famous crab bee hoon! With every table here sporting a plate of this, you know it's gonna be goooood.
And hot damn, this was one of the freshest crabs I've ever had. A quick tug on the claw and the entire chuck of sweet flesh came clean out of it's shell! 🤤The bee hoon and broth was packed with peppery goodness and wok hei, so good that I'm salivating just thinking about it. 👅💦
Fresh prawns and clams star in this delicious dish. Gravy is rich in seafood flavour, coating the slippery hor fun noodles beautifully.
This large portion managed to serve 12 of us. Yum.

Not aesthetically beautiful but this plate of dark and messy Boss Beehoon ($12) is an art form. Who would've thought that simple stir fry of beehoon with only egg, veggies and fishcakes could be so yummy. 😋 The savoury and sweetness of dark sauce was on point and that strong wok hei flavour really punches you in the face. The intensity is real so I will recommend for sharing. 😊
Mellben needs no introduction to all crab lovers. The crab bee hoon has addictively rich, creamy sauce that keeps people coming back for more, despite the insanely long queues. Besides the excellent crab, go for the Salted Egg Pork Ribs, and Salad You Tiao. Don't forget to order some greens to balance this meal ;) Make reservations ahead of time to avoid queuing for 2 hours!
One of the few go-to-dimsum places for supper. Menu has plenty of pictures which makes ordering easy. Food price ranges from $4-$6 each. Recommends their duck porridge and crab bee hoon (which was out of stock when we were there).
An extremely popular, chilled out dinner and supper spot, swee choon is great for meeting old friends for a noisy, casual meal. The food is good, with a large variety to order from, but this means you have to queue.
Haven't had these in a really long while since the Cze Char stall at the old Trinity@Paya Lebar closed. Glad I visited a Hainanese Cze Char for dinner tonight!

Enjoyed the kampong chicken rice. Meat was springy, succulent and wonderful. I will be back again.
