One of the supplied cakes here at AEIOU cafe. The first few forkfuls were a bit too bland, tasting like plain cake rather than a Osmanthus Jasmine Cake. But deep into the cake the Jasmine flavours start to brings out itself from within, and the Osmanthus touch in the jelly is pretty light.
One of my favourites from the cakes tasting I did at work last week, this good-looking confection isn't just sugary sweet and layers of colouring – it's super moist with a subtle flavour of passionfruit that keeps it interesting and refreshing.
One of my 2 favourite tiramisu cakes in Singapore, the other being the one served at Quayside Fish Bar & Bistro at Sentosa Cove. Both have copious amounts of liqueur, coffee and mascarpone added in a golden ratio that makes each flavour distinct without overpowering any of its counterparts.
The super-value-for-money, 5-course set lunch ($28.80++) includes your choice of dessert from five options: espresso creme brûlée (my pick!), pistachio panna cotta, poached pear with gelato, huai san jello, and homemade cake of the day.
Touted by some to be the best in Singapore, though I propose a worthier contender in Babette's version. Mine came undercooked so it was dribbling molten green tea from the top of the cake instead of from the middle. I definitely want to give their white chocolate taro lava cake a go next time, though!
Wanted to get a 16-piece box of financiers, but they were sold out, so the very kind restaurant manager "upgraded" us with a 24-piece box at the same price!
Fluffy, fluffy confections for dessert yesterday night. The strawberry shortcake here isn't bad, but doesn't create as much of a wow effect on my tastebuds as the one by Patisserie Glacé.
The difference between Sunday Folks and Creamier is that Sunday Folks also offers cakes. The Matcha cake was light and fluffy, and was rich in green tea flavour. A definite hit for matcha lovers!
Generous fillings in both the Kaya and Durian Roll, totally living up to its hype!
Avocado Gula Melaka cake
From clockwise, here's Matcha Lava cake, followed by Red Bean & Taro Lava Cake 👍 Sorry I can't answer if you were to ask me which is better, I would say all lol 😅
The 1919 is made up of gula melaka and ka ya cream cheese frosting with almond brittle between the layers and almond slices by the side. The texture is soft and the taste is light, so that you can still enjoy other cakes without having to drown yourself with cups of water.
