A quiet cafe in the HDB neighbourhood, good for chilling with friends. Cakes are uniquely presented and tastes not bad. Tea was fragrant.

Hailing from Osaka is this long-awaited Japanese soufflé pancake cafe. For a melt-in-your-mouth dessert, try their light and wobbly Premium Pancakes ($17.90) that is served with special homemade whipped cream and unsalted butter. If savoury treats are up your alley, go for the denser Chilli Bean Pancakes ($18.90) that has minced beef, chicken sausage, cheese and a side of salad.

Opened by the same guys behind The Affogato Bar at Cluny Court, this new dessert and coffee bar its snazzy younger sibling. The rich and intense Trilogy ($16) sees 70% dark chocolate sorbet, caramel blanc and dark cocoa, served with a double shot of espresso— for cocoa fanatics only. For local flavours, go for the unique Coco Black ($17) that combines a shot of espresso with coconut ice cream, pulut hitam and fragrant kaya bread pudding. Pair your desserts with a cup of hot Dark Mocha ($5.50) that is smooth and deliciously bittersweet.

🙌 Everything taste so good with company 😊😊😊 Berry Ricotta Hotcakes, Cauliflower Fritters, Pink Pasta, Kimchi Fried Rice & Quesadallia - it's my first time trying all except the Berry Ricotta Hotcakes. The Quesadallia tasted amazing with the guacamole, along with the air fried cauliflower fritters 😋

I shared the waffle with a friend and as expensive as it looks, it was only $10!!! totally worth the price as it was very filling, even when shared among 2 people. I loved the ambience in Spatula in general and the workers there were pretty friendly! :) I'd rate the waffle a 4/5 based on all the waffles I've tried thus far.

Maison Ikkoku is set in the heart of Kampong Glam, where in recent years, many shophouses have been restored to their former glory. This gorgeous, cosy cafe is set in the ground floor of a shophouse facing the mosque, and serves up some of the best specialty coffee around. Head upstairs to the third floor if you're in the mood for some cocktails.

Known for their gorgeous HUGE cakes, The Fabulous Baker Boy is simply fabulous. Dig into their sinfully rich, chocolate covered Red Velvet cake with a cup of coffee. Set in The Foothills, it's a nice place to relax with a couple of friends on a lazy afternoon. We suggest that you share a few slices, but hey, sometimes it's alright to be selfish.

Italian bistro and gelateria Chapter 55 (sister to Ice Edge Cafe) has opened up shop in Tiong Bahru, adding to the already extensive list of eateries there. Their fluffy waffles topped with homemade gelato and range of Italian bites and desserts from pastas and pizzas to tiramisus and lava cakes are already drawing in the lunchtime crowd. Their signature gelato waffles ($14-$18.50) may be slightly on the pricey end, but hey - you get what you pay for in quality, with light, fluffy waffles, and rich, flavourful gelato.

You no longer have to travel all the way to Thailand to get your dose of coconut ice cream served in a husk. The people over at newly opened Pong can help you with just that. Get their bestseller - coconut gelato and sorbet in a flesh-filled coconut husk and served with a cup of coconut juice. Their coconut gelato is dairy-free and their sorbets made from fresh fruits complement the gelato well. A perfect pick-me-up on a warm day!

Indulge in a delicious treat of 11 different kinds of waffles to choose from at Createaf Waffles! The waffles from Createaf has sweet and savoury toppings for you to choose from. Here's a photo of merry berry. Read more:

Waffle looks charred but think they intended it to have a slightly smokey taste. Not bad, considering the heavy amount of maple syrup in the waffle. Ice cream probably isn't their specialty, as it was a bit stale and icy. Suitable for a quick fix for waffle craving as the place is small. Prices are slightly on the steeper side, scoop of ice cream with waffle cost $9.90.
