I think some should be familiar with the Jalan Tua Kong Ya Lim Mee Pok, and there is one now at Kovan (in my hood!!). At first glance, it looks unpromising with the little presence of zhup. Yes, this isn't the vinegary and zhupy kind of Mee Pok but this was still brilliantly full of flavours! The basic Ya Lim Mee Pok ($4), even entitle you to 2 prawns (apart from the usual fish cakes and fish balls). While the Signature Noodles ($6) was the upgraded version with abalone slices and dumplings.
I'm already thinking of my next visit here before even cleaning my bowl (which I did!).

Now there is an extra "Huat" version (launching TODAY 12 Jan!) - The Golden Prosperity Burger that comes with hash brown!! It's like the best of both worlds for those who love McDonald's hash brown and their CNY prosperity burger! Moreover, every Golden Extra Value Meal comes with the cutest red packets, more reasons to get more of my favourite Twister Fries ❤

Super simple to end the night with. Pork porridge ($3) with addition Egg at 50c.

Loved the liver, sweet and fresh while perfectly cooked!

Look no further! @Barashitei actually opens till 4am daily - imagine savouring their Spicy Salmon Maki (pictured - $12.80) after your midnight movie at The Cathay 😋

Another Favourite of mine would be their signature Gindara Nabe ($24) - a comforting pot of slow-boiled fish/chicken soup stock to give you a warm hug from the inside 😌

This was a hosted meal courtesy of @barashitei, many many thanks to @fatwithin for the invite 🤗

Trying out their butter chicken ($7). Super 'Gao' and creamy, really really good but my only gripe is the relatively small portion at 7 bucks that I have to carefully portion to mop it up with their plain naan ($2.20) or not I have naan left 😹

Went past this signage of "Charcoal Fried Hokkien Mee" probably about a hundred times before finally deciding to finally eat here tonight 😋
The longest queue belongs to Swee Guan Hokkien Mee, the boss repeatedly fries their noodles over and over again resulting in the distinct charcoal flavour embedded into the noodles. Pictured here is the $8 portion, that strangely isn't 'wet' or 'dry' but of somewhere in between, moist yet not overly ladle with zhup.
However, it seems that the Hokkien Mee isn't the only good stall here. The one that stole my heart would be Kwong Satay, really tender well-grilled chicken/pork (50c each, Min. 10 pieces). Noteworthy would be their special satay sauce that gives off a slight mysterious hint of pink - still can't taste what's the special extra ingredient in it 🤔

The Fried Oysters ($5) from Hup Kee delivers plump fresh oysters served with crisp and slightly stretchy kind of Orh Jian.

All Dim Sums affordably priced at $3.80(!!) - the noteworthy House Special Prawn Dumpling (Har Gao) came with 3 whole fresh prawns) & Spinach Dumpling of Spinach dim sum skins wrapping around prawns and spinach 😋

Minced Meat Mee Tai Mak ($3) & Abalone Ba Chor Mee ($4) A cheaper version of the abalone one as compared to the one at Meng's at Upper Thomson. This has slurp - worthy noodles as well!
Left the place super supper satisfied! This place is operating 24 hours, opened at the Ponggol Nasi Lemak place at Kovan. (Guess I'm never there for the nasi lemak 😂)

What makes a good Mee Bundung would definitely be the sour sweet and spicy gravy, the rendition at Mas Ayu would be one that has the 3 in a well balanced manner, and got me well addicted. Littered with fish cakes, prawns, vege, what's special is that they include pieces of tender beef and that poached egg (similar to the one at SAJC).

You guys gotten try it for yourself and definitely a good soupy bowl for this dreadful rainy weather tonight!

Burpple is definitely a good place to find food and share food recommendations 😋

Firstly, it's size (about A3 size? And about an inch thick - filled with lots of ingredients)

Secondly, it's jam packed with cube sized tandoori chicken, mushrooms, cheese, egg and onions!
Literally a prata version of a pizza just with two big pieces of prata!
Conclusion? The Umami 50 still won many votes with its savoury sweet flavours! But this I guess is definitely a staple for Springleaf Prata!

Greasy thick KL Hokkien Mee ($8) - check out that glistering shine and littered everywhere with insane amount of pork lard. Just the right amount of wok hei and some fresh seafood - just felt it was slightly overpriced for the quantity (esp. at a coffeeshop zi char place)
