This was a surprise discovery as I didn't really take notice of it at first. The pulled pork was so succulent and juicy and the portion was so generous; the meat was spilling out of the burger after my first bite! The homemade coleslaw was amazing; unlike normal coleslaw which is usually drowned in mayonnaise, the white and purple cabbage used was nice and crunchy and gave a nice mix in contrast to the wet and runny pulled pork. A wonderful combination of flavours! I will be trying the double meat version of this on my next visit!!

It was difficult to snap a picture as it was evening when I came over, but I still managed to capture all the ingredients of the burger. The roasted pork was reasonably crispy, with a reasonable amount of porkiness to the flavour. I really liked the mustard that accompanied it, which is quite synonymous with the dish. The cucumber as the vegetable base was also a smart choice with the crunchiness matching the crackling roast pork. I liked the terriyaki sauce dressing which gave the entire burger a nice balance of sweet and saltiness.

This has got to be one of my favourite burger joints in Singapore since discovering it on a random online search for good burgers. First visited HBB when it was first starting out, and have never looked back. Since then, they have added options to add meat and bacon. For this one I had an extra patty. My picture doesn't do this burger justice, but the beef patties are just epic - they are made with freshly ground beef, with a fresh mix of meat and herbs which bursts (literally) with juice upon each bite. You can actually see some of the sauce at the bottom bun.
Really love the condiments in this burger as well: the melted cheese gives a great texture and adds to the flavour of the patty without overwhelming the taste of the meat; the italian herb sauce gave the burger a nice wetness and the herb tomato flavour really worked well with the meat, and this is coming from someone who doesn't like tomato sauce. The bun, newly sponsored since they Instagrammed their misfortune of running out of their batch of gardenia buns, are also nicely toasted.
My only issue with this burger is that I'm done with it in 4 bites, even for this double patty burger. Still, for less than 10 dollars, this comes really at a steal.
As it stands, HBB is my favourite burger joint in Singapore and am still looking for a worthwhile contender!

Located at the bottom of a HDB neighborhood hawker centre, Ministry of Ribs boasts a bountiful selection of western delights, ranging from steaks, burgers, poultry, spaghetti, burgers, and of course - as their name would suggest - ribs.
This time though I zoom in on the burger which is a cheaper option for a cash-strapped student like me. They have a special burger called the Ministry Burger that includes a fried onion ring but what's featured here is their good 'ol Beef Burger. At $7.90 this meal comes with two baked buns, the standard burger condiments of lettuce and tomatoes, and a beef patty that you can tell is freshly made and cooked to perfection - slightly charred on the outside with a brownish pink interior that melts in your mouth, bursting with flavour. Definitely a place to recommend on its own, or if you're around the area and Wah Chee is too crowded :p

Meat is always my preference but VeganBurg makes me think twice about that. A champion in the vegetarian movement with organic and GMO-free products, their 100% soy patty burger is not only delicious but also healthy. There wasn't a drop of oil that burst from the burger nor the fries. I felt like I ate clean after my meal. If I had the budget, I could eat this everyday, or at least every Meat-Free-Monday.

*Ambience at the Eunos branch is really nice with carpet grass benches and couches to boast. Had a pleasant time studying!

"I love eating. But I hate getting fat. I love eating. But I only want to eat the best. I love eating. But I'm reluctant to spend too much." The above are a few paradoxes that describe my love-hate relationship with food. Yet at the same time they define my principles for choosing the places which I love to eat: 1) Hearty 2) Tasty 3) Worthy (of my money)
