Desserts I Crave
Awesome huge peanut pancake before they are cut into smaller pieces! Super teochew friendly stall owners!!
Fell l in love with them at first bite!
Smooth, silky beancurd "custard" encased in buttery, crumbly pastry. At S$9 for a box of 8 tarts, this unpretentious, no frills tart is definitely worth the calories! #valueformoney
They also have mixed beancurd tarts with different fillings like grass jelly, peanuts, red bean, etc. Tried them before and I still prefer the original flavour. Shall try their durian beancurd tarts next time!
#LeCafeSG is also known for their golfball pineapple tarts, moon pies as well as traditional cakes & pastries. With so many F&B establishments opening daily, old school bakeries & confectioneries that stood the test of time are worth paying a visit(s)! Le Cafe is definitely one of them! #supportlocal
Perhaps my top dessert choice if I ever dine here again; this puts all the Shibuya Toasts here to shame (though it's of a different concept). We loved the milk-soaked bread which was near custardy texture, and the bread came with creme-brûlée style crisp sugar crystals along at the sides. My favourite part of the dish had to be the Smoked Milk ice-cream, which is definitely a notch above bacon ice-cream for its cured meat flavours yet being sweet at the same time which makes it a tad mysterious somehow.
And that means a never-ending supply of food and desserts at Catalunya's Weekend Brunch! ☎️: 6534 0886
Having operated around as a pop-up concept, L'Eclair has finally opened their cafe at the fringe of Somerset at 190 Clemenceau Ave. The Lemon Meringue Eclair maintains as my favourite out of the two; well filled with lemon curd in the inside, the tart filling was mediated with the slightly sweet marshmallow-like meringue sitting atop, and the Choux pastry isn't too limp nor dry. Matcha came with the heavy infusion of White Chocolate flavours over the top, but the matcha cream was thick though for a matcha lover I would have expected more bitterness of the aroma of matcha. Still I guess I would be back some day to try more flavours; most of the Eclairs look pretty interesting to try!
When I saw this, the first thought to cross my mind was how mundane a name to give something so spectacular. Tasting it reconfirmed that thought because each strata of this creatively re-imagined tart was a star in its own right.
At the base was a thin, crunchy, salt-flecked chocolate pastry disc. Smooth, rich spheres of chocolate ganache stood neatly upon that. Balanced upon them was a second pastry disc, followed by a dome of salty caramel and lightest caramel cream. Together, they were like a Cirque du Soleil acrobatic act, an execution of perfection for maximum impact. My admiration of the tart's beauty lasted for all of two seconds before greed got the better of me.
8 Months was a long wait (one more month can actually give birth). Congrats and glad that Kki Sweets found their new home with a bigger and better space. Expect new bakes to arrive I'll be back next month.
even my plant likes kki
Second stop today is to meet the folks from Sunday Folks on a Sunday. It's best to eat ice cream when the weather is cold. The Waffles with Earl Grey Lavender Ice Cream ($8.80) is officially one of my favorites now.
Compliments from the boss, thank you ☺️ -
