Price: S$24
Running at 24 bucks, I would maybe consider this reasonable if you share it. The serving is overkill for one person anyway (except if you're a dummy like me who saw this as a challenge of pride to finish the whole thing).
The Parisienne breakfast is made of thick french toast with ham and cheese in it. It's definitely one of the most satisfying french toasts I've had. I wish the 2 fried eggs would have runnier yolks, but they were still good. The best surprise of the dish was the rocket salad on the side. You can't see it in this picture but there is a heap of rockets in there with some dressing and I LOVED it. It was the best palette cleanser to balance out the hefty toast.
Almond Croissant = SGD 3.20
Hot Chocolate = SGD 6.8
Pretty expensive for a breakfast out, but worth it if u appreciate a simple honest-to-God down-to-earth piece of croissant and a cup of hot chocolate to raise your pinky with. Not even sarcastic.
Croissant was crunchy and chewy in all the right ways. Hot chocolate was no joke. It was creamy, not too sweet, definitely didn't taste cheap either. In short, everything was ON POINT.
ON POINT, I SAY.
OMG why isn't this a big deal yet?? I know this is just wings and it tastes similar to the ones from Bonchon, but These. Are. Amazing. The meat is tasty and it goes right off the bone so you can maintain some sort of poise, and the skin is so crunchy that poise would be the last thing on your mind anyway.
Plus, they give you plastic gloves to eat this with and I'm a sucker for going all out and eating with gloves.
Dish: Golden Sand Crab
Priced @ 37 SGD
It's not award winning for nothing!!
Normally I don't like crab because I'm too lazy to pry the flesh out of the shell. And when I actually go ahead and try, I manage to disintegrate all the flesh - and all my poise with it.
I'm not gonna lie - this crab is no exception. I still can't eat crab, but MY GOD. THE SAUCE. I can't even.
It's like a thick combination of cream and margarine and I don't even know. It's just SO GOOD.
The trick here is to get hot buns (sold separately), dip it in the sauce, and float away in thick creamy bliss.
Dish: Chicken Galbi Rice (2 servings)
Price: 14.90 SGD (per serving)
Sometimes I would have one of those moments when I just stop and think about how blessed I am and I don't even deserve it.
This is that particular feeling translated in rice form. I can't believe that there would be fried rice, CHEESE, spicy stuff, and chicken all congregating together in a large skillet just for me. And whoever I'm eating with. But whatever.
Name: Truffle Fries
Price: 5.50SGD
In your life you will find that one food that will stand the test of time. For me, it's fries - my spirit food. I orginally thought that McDonald's and I have this mutually exclusive relationship, but Burger Bar had to come with TRUFFLE POWDER on its fries. It's like a childhood friend who's suddenly grown up all hot.
In more technical and less disturbing matters, the truffle thing could have been better if it were in a liquidy-sauce form (like ketchup), but who am I to complain?! As long as my middle-class ass can have access to TRUFFLES with FRIES, I should just shut up and stuff my mouth with it.
Name: Roasted Char Siew with Rice
Price: 12SGD
I have a few friends coming over to SG in a few months and this is the only place that I could think of bringing them to. Not even USS.
They slather on such a generously thick and excellent bbq sauce over what is probably the softest char siew I have ever tried. It just swims in your mouth like it belongs there.
