Cafes You Shouldn't Miss!
With good music, a nice set-up, and good lighting, Bridge will certainly put you in the best of mood. I would definitely recommend having your weekend brunch at least once here. Their Truffle Honey French Toast with Ice-cream ($18+) had a really interesting palette - a neat mix of sweet & savory. There's a choice of coconut, matcha with azuki beans or chocolate chip for the ice-cream!
$25, free flow of rice + sambal, and a little bit of everything. Truly worth it!
We ordered the Mr Benedict X,Y,Z ($24++) which consists of three eggs with different meat - bacon, salmon, I can't remember what the last one was. The French Brioche ($17++) was refreshing compared to our usual pancake stack/ waffles, though the fig, berry and sourish cream could get overwhelming. Getting there was straightforward, except that you may get lost on your first visit, so look out for their orange signboard with the monkey on it! Oh yes, the Nutty Professor Milkshake ($9++) was awesome but it's a little on the heavy side so you could opt to share it!
The Berry Rose Tart ($7.5) was a lovely mix of both, and I had the Mac&Cheese ($12.9) served with ham. The location is perfect as well, with an open-concept that allows for the natural breeze and lighting (haha) and the place is very spacious!
These gems are soft and moist, with just the right amount of sweetness from the icing at the top. If you're dining in, this place serves cupcakes, cakes and tarts and you could get yourself a cup of caffeine to go along. ($3.9/ea or $22 for six) Slightly pricier than 12Cupcakes but I feel that it's way better. Really wanted to try the Dark Chocolate Ganache but there wasn't any available by the time I reached, so do visit the place early!
I genuinely thought this place was going to be overrated before I actually made a visit down, but the waffles ($8.8) here are really crispy and fluffy at the same time! Many people recommended the Earl Grey Lavender Ice-cream and all I have to say is that you should seriously go for it! It tastes exactly like your regular Gryphon tea! (Picture features Pistachio though!)
Not exactly the most appealing photograph of my food, but the Salted Egg Carbonara ($16) was somewhat up to expectation! There's chili bits here and there so be careful if you can't handle spice, but otherwise I would recommend you to give it a shot!
We tried the Big Breakfast ($16) which they had but there was nothing spectacular about it. The Banana stacks were a huge disappointment, it had a nice aroma but it was extremely sweet and tasted like a chunk of sugar. The Strawberry cake would be lovely with hot tea, but the Nutella Red Velvet cupcake really killed it. Its appearance resembles that of most Red Velvets but upon your first bite, you'd be married to it. Definitely coming back for more of it and to try out their pastas! Cake Rating: 6.5/10.
Grab a friend, drag them along and have a group therapy! Thumbs up for the Steak & Cheese pie ($16) with nachos. It's a really good pairing between the two. I usually opt to visit cafes during off-peak yours to enjoy more privacy. It'll definitely enhance your experience here.
The food here are reasonably priced and the taste is decent too. Would consider making more trips to this place. Do note that the cafe is often packed though, so avoid peak hours if possible! I really enjoyed the banana cake.
If you're going for something plain, visit this cafe!
The heat we had to endure as we made our way here was worth it. We ordered the Banana French Toast & Crispy Bacon ($13.9) as well as the Scrambled Eggs & Croissant w Smoked Salmon ($14.9). Everything about the French Toast worked for me! On the contrary, the smoked salmons tend to be too salty for me but to be fair, that's always the case for smoked salmons. It is really quiet and relaxing for weekday afternoon breaks!
