@DinTaiFungSG is known for whipping out plates and plates of delicious fragrant fried rice using premium pearl rice. In fact, wherever I’m there, I will order Xiao Long Bao and a plate of their Fried Rice with Pork Chop! Anyone the same?

New rendition of fried rice is masterfully prepared using a special blend of XO sauce with scallops and dried shrimps concocted by chefs at Din Tai Fung. To give it a smoky and umami flavour, they also grilled the dried flat fish and toss it with their signature pearl rice. So yummy that we quickly gobbled it down.

Just can’t go wrong with that as we warm our belly with 10 different type of broths that aren't only tasty but beneficial to us too.

Choose between Set Menu, A La Carte or A La Carte Buffet (from $25.90++/weekday dinner) which is wallet-friendly as you indulge in the different cut of meats. And you know what? They serve free flow of Xiao Long Bao!! We can help but to order one tray per person 😂

When these lovely pastel buns adorned with a stroke of gold edible paint came, you can hear the room fills with “ohhh” and “ahhh”. Filled with luscious salted egg lava custard, its smooth and well balanced.


Just have to drop by the new outlet when they mentioned it is decorated all in sweet pink colour and promptly “force” my friends to head there with me by making a reservation in advance.

We got the 4-in-1 pot (broth range from $5-$9) as we were undecided. Our pot includes Spicy Mala Pork Bone broth, Tomato Sweet Corn broth, Herbal Drunken Chicken broth and of course their delightful Beauty Collagen broth (made of shark’s cartilage). An excellent meal as platters of meat and items were served quickly. The only downside was my favourite Fried Beancurd Skin was out of stock that day. Oh, whyyy!

From Tomato with Sweet Corn, Spicy Szechuan, Tom Yum, Authentic Pork Bone and Teochew Style, the only sad thing is they don’t serve Beauty’s collagen soup! Oh wells, at least soup base is much more affordable ranging from $3.50 to $9.50.

Variety of fresh ingredients is similar to Beauty, where you can find handmade balls, homemade paste to premium meat selection. And yes, these addictive crispy beancurd skin rolls!


Comes in either seafood or spicy broth, the pot is filled to brim with fresh seafood such as crabs (tiger of the sea), prawns (dragon of the sea), garoupa fish and squid! Which serves 3-4 pax nicely too.

Spicy broth lean towards laksa flavour (they make use of homemade chilli paste and coconut milk) though it isn’t as milky and delivers a light spicy kick. While seafood broth is boiled for more than six hours with pork bone, the hua diao wine and bean paste makes it more robust that I kept going for seconds.

Just when you complain to your friends for not having HDL for a long time and the next thing you know, you’re having it twice within a week! Despite the crazy wait, their excellent service and food are why we went back. Sadly their tomato soup doesn’t taste as good as before.


Cha Chaan Teng style breakfast, Egg Tarts, Bolo Bun and Milk Tea! Their signature egg tarts which have wobbly egg custard encased in buttery cookie tart shell, is still a must-have whenever we drop by.


Situated along Circular Road, you'll find a modernised @bakbaksg Bak Kut Teh (BKT) restaurant offering innovative new dishes such as Sea Cucumber BKT and a special solo dining area - similar to Ichiran Ramen.

Hail from original Rong Cheng BKT who are known for using Dragon Bone, Bak Bak also retain this signature and you can find the Premium Dragon Rib Soup here. Fresh premium pork loin ribs and old garlic are used, elicits a more robust taste.

With an array of side dishes to choose from, do get their delicious Homemade Fried Prawn Rolls ($11). Finely minced meat and prawn filled with crunchy water chestnuts bits dip into sweet sauce, it's so addictive I had to order a second round!
