There's something so satisfying about a deep pocketed beautiful waffle, crisp to the touch of the knife, substantial on the inside. Here's a review of all waffles that I have tried. P.S. Pancake batter cooked in a waffle maker doesn't make it a waffle.

Sadly, they have tweaked the recipe of their waffles here. It's more bread than waffle now, absolutely no crisp on the outside, dense and fluffy on the inside. Still, it's rather fragrant. I don't see myself coming back here anymore when I have a craving for waffles.

Was greeted rather warmly by the staff. Sat at a table for 4, when we only had 2, and was asked rather brusquely to move in to occupy another table. I was quite puzzled because, there were still quite some empty tables, and sadly not all tables are made equal. The table for 2 was the extremely low kind, and I didn't want to hunch over to eat my desserts. Oh well. That aside, the waffle was rather average. Crispy outside, but too airy and non substantial inside. The pistachio gelato had a nice rich flavour, but ruined by the overload of sugar. Priced at $10.40 after service charge.

Was rather hesitant to get it because of the banana ice cream, which I thought would be an absolute nightmare if it were made of banana essence. Thankfully, I took the risk and am happy to say it tasted natural and not overly sweetened. Banana pieces were caramelised beautifully. Waffle was super crisp but lacking on the fluffiness. Butter taste is quite prominent and fragrant. The weakest link has to be the caramel sauce, which was so pedestrian and lacked smokiness. Priced at $10.90.

I am actually quite curious where the last quarter of the waffle went. The waffle here is really misleading. Not a waffle. More like biscuits? Or waffles you keep in the fridge for days and then one morning decide to heat it all up in the microwave. Yup, that's how dried and crunchy the waffles here are. Taste wise not too bad. But how wrong can biscuits go? The butterscotch ice cream is incredibly smooth and velvety. More vanilla than butterscotch but I like it. I don't get the two Madeleine like cake served. Didn't taste good too. Priced at $9.50 which is not worth it imo.

Was puzzled at their premium and supreme labelling of their gelato. If it isn't clear, supreme is the more expensive one. Couldn't resist getting speculoos, after sampling a few flavours. Pistachio wasn't too bad, the more interesting one was Baileys Milo, which tasted more like condense milk with milo powder. The texture is pretty good, but the ugly scoop is quite a turn off. Waffles were crisp, and didn't turn soggy. Interior was rather dense, resembling sponge cakes. However, I couldn't properly enjoy the waffles because it was so bare. The droplets of syrup were really miserable, and the trail of chocolate sauce got me mopping the plate vigorously. I had to ration the gelato and even then it was not enough. My advice would be get double scoops or maybe ask for more sauce? I was dying to take my plate to the flowing chocolate fondue tap. Was rather amused by the pinch of hokey pokey added. I mean, either you leave it out or go all out. Overall besides the dry waffles, I think this place is rather promising. Service is really good. Priced at $7.80.

Jumped right to the speculoos waffle! I had high hopes for the waffle after many reviews saying it's crisp and fluffy. Hmm. Not so much. It's essentially a super basic waffle. Reasonably crisp yes, but you just can't get anything out of a petite waffle. The cookie sauce is no Llao Llao, but the earthy flavour works well with the waffle. I ordered the cookie butter ice cream (why not go all out), which was pretty good. The ice cream texture is good and flavours above average. But I just cannot get over the price of $11.50. I didn't feel satisfied even though the waffles and ice cream were pretty good. I blame the size though, small plate, small waffles, small scoop of ice cream, skimpy speculoos spread. I say, come only on Wednesday when you get a free scoop of ice cream with a waffle purchase.

Waffle with chocolate soil, salted egg sauce and honeycomb. This ambitious waffle really tries hard to please. Wasn't a fan of the waffle, which was too dry for my liking. Batter seems rather stale and limp. It is freshly made though and the smell was pretty awesome. I always go for the most unique flavours when trying the ice cream, but I was stumped at which to order because all of them tasted so oily and a little off in terms of taste. Interesting flavours include butter beer and salted egg ice cream. I then tried the safer flavours and settled for the green tea with white chocolate which isn't all that bad. The salted egg sauce was pretty bad, it didn't have the fragrance associated with salted egg and had a strange sour taste. Priced at $13, rather expensive for the quality. All that glitter is not gold I say.

The waffles were horrifying. Plain, stale, utterly disgusting. The vanilla bean sauce I chose to accompany the waffle was a strange milky flavour that didn't go well with the waffle, heck it was awful even by itself. To be fair, this wasn't their recommended dessert. Perhaps the apple rhubarb crumble would have been a better choice. The only saving grace was the the Thai milk tea ice cream. Even though it didn't have the best texture, the thickness and sweetness of the Thai milk tea was good. I'm starting to think Thai milk tea anything is a safe choice. Priced at $9.50.

Places with exotic ice cream flavours never fails to excite me. Went straight for the melon with Parma ham and white truffle. Partly because I was quite intimidated to try other flavours. Was really impressed with both though the former could simply be melon ice cream. Good creamy texture to the ice cream! I enjoyed the ice cream thoroughly although my friend commented that the white truffle tasted like engine oil and the melon got too soapy after a while (both I disagreed with). My ultimate regret was not putting any sauce on the waffle, thinking my savoury ice cream would pair best with a plain waffle. How wrong was I. Their waffle is very plain and I can tell you now, the flavours I picked do not match a plain waffle. I had a hard time finishing the waffle. I must say that the waffle is very well made though, and I would have loved to have the toffee sauce on it to truly judge the waffle. There was a huge lunch crowd on a weekday but thinned quickly after two.

Must say I was quite excited to try the gelato here. Is it another Creamier/Fatcat? Verdict: Quite far from it, but not too shabby either. After trying some flavours, I settled for pistachio (rather average though) and sea salt gula melaka. The latter impressing me with the fresh distinct flavour of Palm sugar. The rum and raisin pales in comparison to the rest as it was slightly bitter and had a sorbet consistency. Orh nee could be better if it had a stronger yam flavour imo. A weird plastic smell wafted out from the kitchen when the waffle was being made, causing me to be slightly tense at how it will turn out. However, other than being plain, it was fine and very crispy outside. Pair it with the salted caramel to make it more palatable. The ice cream here takes forever to melt, making me wonder how much stabilisers they use! Overall I hope they will improve their flavours because there is quite a bit of potential!
Edit: Double Scoops clarified that their gelato "contains very low dosage of stabilizer/emulsifiers". And the reason it doesn't melt so easily was due to the "super low temperature" of their display set.

It took a while to come (apparently it's their first time making the waffle) and boy was it the worst waffle I have had. Dry, tough, chewy waffle with a taste reminiscent of your childhood biscuits. Sub par vanilla extract ice cream. To be fair, they are very new. The staff enquired about the waffle and I gave my frank opinion. Quite shocked that she said the waffle batter is from a manufacturer and in future they will do their own waffles. Say what?! Why is the place even opened is what I want to know. Needless to say, I wouldn't be back for a long time till they sort things out. Edit: Placed has closed.

I went whoa went the waffle came as I didn't expect it to be so huge! Very good height for a waffle! I'm always excited by a beautifully made waffle. The waffle here is more of the super fluffy kind, slightly crisp outside, very substantial. Pandan ice cream was really good! Not too sweet and had a very light natural flavour. The pairing of gula melaka sauce, pandan and waffle didn't really convince me but I would gladly return to try their other offerings!
