Malaysia: Penang 🇲🇾
My favourite amongst those I tried. It's very different from Singapore's version. If you like sour stuff, you'll probably like it. The small bowl costs RM4.
All these cost only RM23.95. Bought this share before our flight. Apparently it is also cheap according to the standards of the locals.
From top left clockwise: Rojak (RM4), Orh Lua (RM10), Char Koay Teow (RM6), & Curry Mee (RM5). Think the food here is somewhat overrated? I like the rojak the most. Penang's char koay teow is not sweet so it tastes like those you can get from the economic noodles stall in Singapore. The curry mee had lots of ingredients but the curry wasn't fragrant. It basically just tastes like chili noodles.
Wasn't planning to post this (this picture was taken much belatedly) but this is too spicy for me not to post haha. S & I admit defeat to this store for their tom yam 🙇
Super shiok chendul at RM2.50 only. Went back for a second time this morning. Was served by the boss this time & he was much more generous haha so try to go when it's less crowded? Fyi, there's actually a blue store nearby where you can sit & enjoy your chendul.
Included breakfast at our hostel which is quite impressive 😂 But ok clockwise also operates a cafe so there's a big kitchen. This costs RM8 without accoms.
Stumbled upon this place after exploring the clan jetties. There were lots of people so we reckoned this must good & it was! 2 bowls of fish bee hoon with fuzhou fishball & fried fish egg costed us RM30. You can choose to have clear or spicy soup. I liked the liang teh (RM1.20) they sold as well.
Couldn't really decide what to have so we followed the queue & bought the largest one to share at RM4.50. Nothing different from Singapore's rendition. S said it's good but I think it's partly due to hunger. Blur picture because we were sharing table with judging strangers haha.
