One of the most visually stunning dessert on the menu! The details are so intricate I’ve seen people mistake it for a real pot. Scooping from it, instead of cutting through it.
The flavors are on point! I really love the crunchy matcha pebbles!
Monster loves the attention to detail and the intricacies of this!
We ended with Neh Neh Pop @nehnehpopsg ice cream! Featuring Strawberry Pockie($7), Double Chocolate Cone($7) and the colourful Rocky Road($8). Each of us has our own favourite!haha!Wondering should I be down tomorrow to get the Mango Sticky Rice(out of stock today). 😅 #EileenWantsToCampHereForever #IceCream #NehNehPop #9mcmthejubileemarketplace

Diners who stay back after lunch at Portico on Saturdays are welcome to take part in 'Saturdays at Portico', a weekly feature whereby various fun and unusual activities such as a conducted tour of Portico's very own herb garden (and sampling of various plants - I'm dead excited to share that I met and ate the smallest baby cucumber ever, which is the size of a fingernail!) and food plating demo sessions are held...absolutely free of charge!
This is undoubtedly one of the best sticky date puddings I've had. Shockingly hot and moist pudding, perfectly caramelised on the outside, doused in a sticky toffee sauce. The earthy dates were very pronounced here, each forkful revealing clumps of the stringy fruit. Paired with the cold vanilla bean ice cream, this made the perfect ending to our Sunday brunch.
And psst I totally dig how the toffee and ice cream melted into that yin and yang shape!
I have looked high and low but hand on my heart, the banana bread at The Lokal is still my number one. Mostly because it's served warm and blanketed in their luscious housemade vanilla yogurt. Of course the cooked banana pieces, caramel sauce and toasted hazel nuts don't hurt 😄
The horlicks-tiramisu in a pot cake was AMAZING! Definitely would go back for more ! Blue velvet? Perhaps not to my liking as it was quite dry & sorry to say but it was only the color that was special/nice...
The toppings/sauces, which are diverse and extensive in selection, are free flow as the yogurt is ultimately priced by weight, so I had the intention to line the periphery with all these quirky unusual toppings. The end product, apologetically, evokes memories of the Raffles Place MRT platform at 6.30PM in its orgiastic festivity. 3.5/5
Hidden behind Yio Chu Kang Road in the private estate within at 24 Jalan Selaseh is Bing Qi Lin, a new ice-cream kiosk which apparently supplies their ice-cream to cafés such as Maple & Market (which they serve alongside with waffles). Pistachio was creamy and nutty; came with nutty bits for a bite. My favourite though went to the Milk & Honey, a light flavour which came with a hint of dairy and a light touch of honey for sweetness, though it seemed to have melted a bit too quickly.
The spacious 144-seater restaurant offers a wide selection of antipasto, pastas, pizzas and a degustation menu that will not put a hole in your pocket.
