Shark Bite: one heck of a refreshing boozy float of housemade lemon sorbet with Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat. *flutters* But damn, I'll be torn between this and Blackout. On its own, the salted caramel ice-cream is pretty heady with powerful burnt toffee notes, and when paired with the Modern Times Black House coffee stout, it really fleshes out the beer's voluptuous coffee character. Each float is $8 but a better deal would be to order a glass of beer and top up $4.50 for a scoop of ice-cream, so that you can still taste the beer on its own merit.
I've always loved the housemade sorbet cocktails at The Naked Bar, and it's great that it's now possible to head down for just drinks and a couple of bar bites! Pictured here's the rum-based pineapple sorbet cocktail that's dusted with sour plum powder, and the white peach sorbet cocktail spiked with Earl Grey-infused gin. They're both great, but my heart firmly lies with the rock melon sorbet + sake combination. *_*
PS. Take note that cocktails are only available at Nekkid now. Booze-wise, it's wines and beers only at The Naked Finn. I'd start with cocktails for aperitifs next time and head over for dinner! Or you can take a leisurely lunch, check out some galleries, and come back at 4pm for the bar. X=
