Didn’t get to try these the last time they were launched, but glad I did this time. Definitely prefer them to the original ones for the nice kick in spice!

Tori-Q added tamagoyaki to their options of skewers! It’s one of the pricier sticks but I’d get it again. Portion was good while the egg was sufficiently fluffy without being too sweet.

Throwback to the har cheong gai burger months back! McDonald’s has since quietly put up the same cutlet as a side for $2. It feels a little smaller (flatter?) than the original patty but tastes pretty much the same. Prawn paste flavour wasn’t that strong but it was still an affordable and satisfying snack! Skin was crispy and meat tender, albeit a little too fatty.

Have had this burger a couple of times and have always finished it feeling satisfied (I hope I don’t jinx it)! A whole square of pretty creamy scrambled eggs, topped with the familiar McDonald’s sausage patty, melted cheese, and the mayo-like McChicken sauce in between buns - liked the savouriness mixed in with a light touch of sweetness. Best to have this hot upon order!

Long John has always been my fav fast food option for their crispy and well seasoned battered munches, esp the fries! But somehow, I’ve never had their dory before. Went for it this time cause they’ve a $10 deal (it’s online, google for it!) for a 2 piece chicken set and 2 piece dory set. Our 2 pieces of dory were fresh and moist, with its meat not as “compact” and dense as their usual battered fish. It’s definitely more worth and filling!

A pity that the crispy fried chicken patty wasn’t too strong in prawn paste flavour, but we enjoyed how juicy and tender it was! The prawn paste mayo was unfortunately very subtle (kinda bordering insignificant), but as a whole, it was still pretty shiok to have. It’s a little pricier but also felt a bit more filling than the usuals. Other than this normal set, you can also get the set that comes with 2 Ha Ha Cheong Gai drumlets and criss cut fries at $9.80 (if I didn’t remember wrongly) - heard my friends say that their drumlets have a much stronger prawn paste flavour!

Probably the most popular fast food item around now! Got this for dinner so it came with fries (I still prefer LJS’ heh) instead of the usual breakfast hashbrowns. We liked the sweet and savoury combi but it got a little heavy half way through, though it’s quite shiok to have an all day breakfast option!

Batter was slightly too thick, but I did enjoy the crunch and fish texture. LJS still wins it for me overall!

Kinda sad that this is gone earlier than I thought it would. It was pretty impressive tbh, and I especially liked the subtle bitter notes among the sweetness. Filling was custard-y and thick, encased in a crispy crust. Not complaining for this price!

We preferred the normal Chickenjoy to spicy for the more flavourful marination. Meat was juicy and tender with crispy skin on every piece we got. Topped up for a packet of fries which we thought wouldn’t be good as they seemed ‘pale’ but actually were very crispy!

Was going to Sentosa for an outdoor movie (hence the lighting ops) and thought this would be a good choice to go for. Went for everything I was allowed to get - tomato salsa, salad, sour cream, couscous, black beans, mashed potato, corn, cilantro rice, etc., and two choices of sauces, a refreshing Mayo Cucumber and Honey Mustard. Mixed them all up and it was surprisingly tasty, plus very filling! The grilled chicken slices were well seasoned too, although it could have been just a teeny bit more tender.

FINALLY got around to Arnold’s and I’ve got to say that the raving reviews about it are no lies! Stellar fried chicken they serve up here - very lightly battered, absolutely crispy all around and meat was super tender and juicy (although really oily on some parts). There’s a queue and some waiting time needed but they fry these upon order, so hey, no complaints man. Our Spring Chicken Meal was good to share for 2 and came with the familiar sides of fries and coleslaw. Super sinful but worth the calories!
