Comes along as quite an acquired taste, I guess this is alittle too fancy for my liking as their umeboshi honey leaves a weird aftertaste in my mouth while the toast can do with alittle more TLC.
And yes, single scoop at @doublescoopssg AGAIN ๐น
This time with the Nutelle Banana Toast ($11) topped with SPECULOOS ice cream (!!). I think this was a better choice out the the 2 (other was the plainer twin - Shibuya Honey Toast). On a side note, I sinfully adore the super milky taste of the whipped cream ๐
Really big love for their Garlic & Cheese Bread ($13.90) - Essentially your usual garlic toast but upsized! With tons of nacho cheese on it! Felt like the perfect combination to have for the mid-week! Definitely pair your toast with some of their unique drinks like the Misugaru ($6.50) or the Sweet Potato ($6.50) for a warm comforting drink that gives you a hug from the inside!
Once again, congratulations on your opening and for the warm hospitality @caffebenesg! & @burpple for the invite!
Thick buttered toast covered with dripping Nutella sauce, chopped nuts and topped with vanilla & Ferro Rocher ice cream.
The pre-cut toast was pretty easily to devour, cut and generously slather with ice cream and sent it straight to your mouth.. instant heaven ๐ผ
Can't really say I'm unimpressed given the outlook of the toast, what we had was Party in the Mouth($18.90) - was a clash a flavours in my mouth, coldness milkyness of the ice cream, tartness of the strawberry sauce, buttery crispy toast and a short entrance of the creamy custard. There wasn't a need for the honey, beause of the overwhelming flavours within.
The Auntie side of me wasn't pleased with the portion size at that price and the friend scrap clean of the non-hard part of the bread crust ๐
- lightly crisp toast, like a good marriage between kaya toasted bread and a brioche, drizzled with honey, with scoops of vanilla ice cream and decorated with strawberries and almonds.
Never tried Honey Shibuya Toast from BKK After You, but I imagined it would taste abit like this. Anyone tried both and tell me is my imagination doing it justice? ๐
Reupload with a better edit.
Seems like Omaspoon joined the thick toast trend as well apart from their famed bingsu!(But seems like it's been around for awhile)
Would say their thick toast was pretty decent, healthy amount of sliced bananas, thick oven-baked toast slathered with nutella topped with ice cream and scattered with almonds and making it offically unhealthy with that extra squeeze of whipped cream.
Everything was pretty good but just hoped that they gave a bigger scoop or two of their ice cream to make it better.
