This is really tasty as the squid and the roe combined well to give it a crunchy and delicious. Posted by Ah Leong San 2015 September 6
The stew from this baked dish went very well with rice. Just scoop the whole dish onto a small bowl of rice and the whole meal is complete. Tasty and sweet too. Yum yum. Posted by Ah Leong San 2015 September 6
Yup, the Maguro is super fresh and as expected, the otoro portion was beautifully sublime and melting :)

aside, our dinner the other night, filled with food, laughter and calculations.
Heaps of well seasoned sashimi thickly cut! One may agrue that seasoning might have overwhelmed the sashimi taste. But I still can taste the freshness and texture. Value for money, I will be returning to this place again!
The meal at Teppei comes with a main dish and for mine, I chose to have sashimi rice. Expect super fresh and thick sashimi cubes on a chewy sticky hill of Japanese pearl rice. The dish on the left has what I believe to be minced meat with rice crisps. They also give a spoon of umami on the side. Tell me how to resist a plate of pretty yummy fishy goodness even though I'm so full from the 1937438929271 dishes before this!
Yes, $16 isn't exactly cheap, but for arguably one of the best chirashi around, it certainly is worth it. Teppei Syokudo's much raved-about Kaisen Don is one of the most value-for-money ones out there, and it doesn't compromise on quality or flavour. Add four beautifully sweet, plump scallops for just $1.80 (bringing the total to $17.80), and dig in to what is quite possibly the most indulgent takeaway food. The marinated chunks of salmon and tuna are perfectly meaty and fresh, punctuated by salty bursts of ikura. So you might have to stand and eat this awkwardly in some corner of Takashimaya, but who cares when it tastes so darn good?
Back again to Gyoza-Ya to attack 10 pieces of Mentaiko Gyoza. Really loved the generous amount of mentaiko layered on top of it and the tasty meat filling. May be a LITTLE salty but you can never really go wrong with mentaiko.
The mayo sauce was on point and so was the lightly toasted salmon. The glorious Shiok 2nd Gen Maki topped with a generous amount of salmon roe was just melt-in-the-mouth good and I can't wait to go back again for more!!!
