Still the best Thai stir-fried vermicelli we’ve had locally so far! Learnt from our lesson previously and went for the medium instead of small so that we have more to go around. 😛 Loved that strong hei, crunchy beansprouts and the super generous portion of fresh prawns and squid. If you’re not a fan of seafood, they also have chicken and pork options.

Had their red tom yum the first time we came and tried the clear version for a change this time. If you haven’t visited Dee Tongue Thai, their spice levels are much higher than what you’d find at other stalls, so make sure you inform them if you need them to drop the heat! This bowl had lots of fresh prawns and squid in a tangy spicy broth that we wiped clean easily. Loved how flavourful it was even though I found it just a touch too salty. Will be back for this again! The small portion is good for 2.

Really enjoyed the fried chicken here at Oven & Fried Chicken! Apparently they use rice flour in their batter and that’s the key to their super crispy skin. Liked how even though it’s so crispy on the outside, the meat still remains juicy and tender without being greasy at all.

We liked the crispy fried garlic bits and it’s fragrance but the intestines itself weren’t as impressive. They were slightly too hard and chewy even though the flavour’s there. Would be great if they were serve crispy!

If you are craving for a strong fiery kick (and I mean FIERY in caps), this is it man. It had a good amount of fresh squid, prawns and mushrooms, along with a generous hand of herbs. You know how some Tom Yum lacks in either the sourness, spiciness or richness? This hit high in all 3, especially its spice and how it borders on burning when you’re slurping it down. 😂 Shiok if you’re a spice lover but I still think a slight drop in heat may draw out a bit more sweetness to give a better balance in flavour.

If you don’t need a big portion - feels good for 3-4 pax, they serve a small at $12 too.

THIS WAS SO GOOD! Probably the best Pad Woon Sen I’ve had in Singapore. We were really impressed with the strong wok hei + egg fragrance, and that it was fried so well without being greasy. The vermicelli was springy, texture enhanced with the crunchy bean sprouts. We went with the seafood option and got prawns and tons of squid - all fresh and cooked well. Only gripe were the slightly bitter veg but negligible since the rest was so shiok. Will def be back for more!!

They also serve bigger portions at $10 and $15, and we regretted not getting the bigger ones cause ours was gone so quickly 😂

A not too satisfying dinner left us with super strong cravings for something savoury, so we ended up here at Korat Thai for their signature omelette.

It was crispy and oily but so sinfully good! This was one fluffy omelette with sufficient bits of chicken to go around. Also loved how it wasn’t just the sides that were crispy. You can also get this plain at $7.90, while the prawn version is $9.90 too.

This was quail eggs encased in a minced pork wrap, paired with sriracha mayo. Eggs were nicely done with a runny yolk and the meat case was tender and well seasoned, but I personally found this pretty average in flavour as a whole compared to their other dishes. I’d go for the spam fries or fried eggplant for more satisfying bites!

Their signature dish since the very beginning and it’s not hard to see why - super tender slab of braised pork belly in their rich haus saus. Get their Shiny Rice ($0.50) and you’re all set!

A stack of the ‘atas’ ingredients - blue cheese, foie gras, melted gruyere and shaved pear with double pork patties. Though each ingredient seemed already quite heavy tasting on its own, it surprisingly went pretty well together.

Another burger I really liked! Although ours was somehow very crumbly, the sweetness from their house-made bacon jam ‘zhng-ed’ up the whole burger. With double pork patties, egg fritters (yes! The kind you get in your sliced fish soup) and a fried egg, it was a good mix of savoury and sweet flavours that you can keep digging into without feeling jelak.

This was my favourite burger of the night, with house-made guacamole, salsa and double patties, sandwiched between fluffy buns. The creamy guac and more refreshingly tangy salsa mix really helped to balance out the heavier flavours from the smoky patties, and I loved the strong use of cilantro here (you might want to stay away if you’re not a fan 😂)! This is something I can easily finish on my own.

Thank you @sevenate.sg for the lovely dinner and @burpple for the invite!
