If you are wondering where are the coconut flakes, well, I hate them so I told the staff to separate it from the waffle. The ondeh ondeh waffle without the flakes taste like kaya to me (HAHA though it is in fact pandan) and it reminds me of the taste I used to like when I was younger. Nowadays I just go for the more adventurous taste (e.g chocolate, cheese, maple). But this one is slightly different in the sense that the kaya taste seems to be built in with the waffle. My friend who dipped the waffle in coconut flakes said it really tasted like ondeh ondeh. The gula melaka sauce and vanilla ice cream complements well with the waffles and nope it isn't the kind of extraordinary delicious-delicious yet it had the simple, traditional oldskool taste one would simply crave for more after the first bite. That blissful taste- in a simple manner. The buffalo wings laced with the thick barbecue sauce (well it does taste like it) brings the sides to another level. At first bite, there wasn't anything special but wait for a few seconds and you will see it coming- the spicy, flavourful barbecue taste bursting like fireworks in your cavern. This meal really brings back nostalgic feelings.
For an anti-waffle fan, this red velvet waffle is really my type of waffle- crisp on the outside and not too moist on the inside. Combined with the lemon cream cheese frosting and pink meringue kisses and topped with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream adds different flavour to every bite you take. The ice cream especially complemented well with the waffle, softening its crisp texture but not to the extent that it becomes soggy.
