Brute brownie with single scoop [$8.90] / premium flavour [+$0.70] // A nut-less brownie (YAY for me 😍) that's fudgy, dense and chocolatey, topped with a single scoop of ice cream flavour of your choice!

I chose the genmaicha flavour, which is only available for a limited time till end of July. In case you are wondering, genmaicha is a roasted brown rice Japanese green tea that differs greatly from matcha, with a lingering roasted flavour and aroma. Texture was smooth and creamy, with a distinctive earthy note and roasted flavour that had a subtle lingering aroma. However, the flavour seemed to subside gradually which depleted my enjoyment ... or perhaps it's the rich cocoa flavours of the brownie that overpowered it? 🤔 Almost 80% of the ice cream flavours are premium here hence do expect more damage incurred to your pocket. Samples of ice cream are provided upon request but the portion provided was really meagre that I could barely taste the flavours 😞. Prices are pretty steep for a neighbourhood ice cream cafe but makes a great refreshing treat for yourself when the weather shows no mercy(if you are in the vicinity) .

Earl grey cream puff [$4.30] Finally earl grey has made its comeback at @koki.tamagoyaki , available for a limited time till end July!

✨ Being an avid fan of earl grey, I immediately laid my hands on it before these gets off the shelves! The fillings were indeed generous - warning: do be prepared to get ur hands and mouth messy and full of cream if you are consuming it with bare hands! 💥 The choux puff came with a slightly crisp caramelised surface layer that had a soft and doughy interior, stuffed generously with earl grey cream filling. The earl grey flavoured cream was smooth, creamy with a distinctive, lingering aroma that was pleasant and enjoyable! 💖 Though I do wish the earl grey flavour was more intense, it was distinctive enough for both the sense and scent! 😋 A puff here is also pretty huge that's great for sharing among 2 or more pax! .

Coconut water softserve [$7] Along with the Thai green tea flavour, this coconut water softserve is only available as a seasonal flavour till 8 august as well!

Usually not a fan of coconut but this was surprisingly good! Texture was a little icy (though not as bad as the Thai green tea) but smooth and refreshing, a great perk-me-up for the merciless scorching weather. Served with gula Melaka, almond crunch and specks of desiccated coconut flakes, the combination was much better here, with the almond crunch providing a pleasant crunch factor and the gula melaka contributing to a subtle tinge of sweetness. Really love the almond crunch toppings and if only the milk crumbs in the Thai green tea softserve could be replaced by this...

Ice cream parfait [$6.80] + additional scoop [+$3] Choice of 2 toppings and 1 sauce, each parfait comes with a scoop of ice cream of your choice, with a base of whipped cream (??), topped with a charcoal waffle cone biscuit.

A wide variety of toppings and sauce to choose from, which includes fruits, crunch e.g. chocolate coated almonds, granola, oreo, digestive biscuits, 小馒头 childhood biscuit etc and sauces eg salted caramel, white chocolate, passionfruit etc. I chose the fudge brownies and strawberries for the toppings, along with salted caramel sauce. As for the ice cream, my pick was houjicha and honey lavender. Pretty sad to admit that though the texture of the ice cream were fine- soft, smooth and creamy, the flavours were a run off the mill. Perhaps also due to the fact that my palate has been accustomed to stronger houjicha flavours from parlours eg. Matchaya, hvala, the one here was pretty mild for my liking. Distinctive... but not ideal if you are a hardcore houjicha fan (which I am one). The honey lavender fared better, with a lingering floral fragrance, coupled with a pleasant natural sweetness of honey that was smooth, refreshing and aromatic! 💜 The fudge brownie chunks were fudgy, rich and chocolatey whereas the slices of strawberries were tangy and provided a tinge of acidity to cut through the other sinful and decadent elements. Salted caramel sauce was thick, creamy and sweet with a pleasant lingering salty aftertaste. On the downside, the waffle cone biscuit lacked the essential crispness and was soft and soggy ☹️ .

Special seasonal lavender parfait [$14.90] Only available for a limited time exclusively at the Cathay outlet, this seasonal parfait is available while stocks last!

Swipe to view the different components that constitute this seasonal parfait. The top layer of Hokkaido milk softserve was smooth, creamy and milky, specked with lavender petals. The ichigo (frozen strawberries) were icy and tangy, berry sour but refreshing! Lavender gelato was creamy, thick with a lingering and aromatic floral fragrance ; personally prefer the softserve version for a smoother and softer texture. Milk pudding was firm albeit wobbly, a pretty mild flavour that was enhanced by the tangy homemade berry sauce. Matcha granola and toasted rice puffs were a pleasant addition that provided a crunch factor to the other softer components. Really love this combination where every element was an enjoyable and significant contribution for both the sight and sense! 😍😋💜💜

Warm pb cookie [$13++] Warm peanut butter chocolate chip cookies topped with salted speculoos softserve and garnished with crushed, grounded nuts, served on a hot skillet pan.

The cookies were baked to a soft, chewy and sufficiently moist interior which I adore, with a slightly crisp exterior. A striking resemblance to subway cookies (my favourite cookies till date)! 😋 The characteristic nutty flavour and aroma of peanut butter is distinctive, along with a subtle chocolatey notes from the semi-melted chocolate chips. The salted speculoos softserve was smooth, creamy with a melt-in-the mouth texture, with the characteristic caramelised sweetnes, coupled with a subtle pleasant lingering saltiness. Sweetness was just right, neither too mild nor overwhelming. On the downside, one of the cookies was overbaked, resulting in a tough, dry and hard texture, as well as a slightly burnt flavour 😢 .

Classic waffles [$8.20] with double scoops [$7.60] - [$15.80] Served with your choice of maple syrup/chocolate sauce and whipped cream(optional), this signature thick Belgian waffles are prepared freshly upon order, along with optional adds-on of ice cream or fruits of your choice.

The waffles were slightly crisp on the edges, with a light, soft and fluffy interior. Texture was on point but I would prefer a slightly denser and cakey interior with more crispness on the exterior. Pretty sad to admit that the standard had declined from what I had experienced on my visits few years back, without the characteristic lingering buttery fragrance in the batter and a less thick waffles 😢. The ice cream remains enjoyable though, with my flavours of choice: Oregon mint fudge and caramel fudge brownie. A smooth, creamy and delectable treat that makes a great complement to the waffles! The Oregon mint fudge is a mint flavoured ice cream with chocolate swirls and chips embedded within, refreshing with a subtle chocolatey note; a combination that can never go wrong! Personally prefer the caramel fudge brownie which is a vanilla based ice cream with caramel swirls and brownie chunks. The brownie chunks were fudgy and chocolatey whereas the caramel swirls added a pleasant tinge of luscious sweetness to the milky, creamy vanilla ice cream. .

Double fromage cheesecake [$28] The signature and most popular flavour here, this cake comprises of double layers of cheesecake- baked at the bottom and non-baked atop.

Adorned with castella cake crumbs, the bottom layer was creamy, rich and thick whereas the top layer was light, smooth with a melt-in-the mouth texture. A luscious, rich milky flavour that literally melted my heart 💖. Using the finest and quality ingredients, this delicate and velvety double fromage cheesecake are airflown from Hokkaido, saving me the trouble and expenses to fly to Japan! 💖 Personally prefer this flavour over the matcha one (surprisingly), with its more prominent milky flavour and fragrance. .

Chocolate Rhapsody [$18] Newly opened for ~1 week at Millenia walk, The Dark Gallery specializes in chocolate beverages and desserts.

The chocolate rhapsody comprised of 3 scoops of ice cream made up of 3 different types of chocolates: dark, milk and white, served along with meringues, tuille, chocolate mousse on a bed of chocolate soil crumbles. Best to share among at least 2 pax as the portion is rather huge and might get a tad overwhelming after awhile. My favourite flavour would be the dark chocolate, with its bittersweet cocoa flavour and a pleasant bitter undertone. Following up would be the white chocolate, with its luscious creamy, milky flavour and lastly the milk chocolate (personally not a fan of milk chocolate) that was milky with a subtle chocolatey note. The texture of the ice cream were great, smooth, creamy and thick that allowed prolonged enjoyment. The chocolate soil crumbles added a pleasant crunch factor, along with chocolate tuille for an extra crisp factor and a bittersweet chocolatey note. Presentation was a plus point, intricately plated that resembled a fine dining concept. Though the ice creams were enjoyable for the chocoholics, this dessert lacked the wow factor which perhaps could be solved by having more toppings or other elements e.g. Waffles/brownies to be paired along with? 🤔 .

Brownie cookie [$7.90] One of the non lava cookies served here, apart from the classic butter cookie.

Looks classic and simple but the taste was a mind-blowing one, especially if you are a hardcore chocoholic! 💖 The brownie cookie was fudgy, gooey and sufficiently moist, with a luscious bittersweet chocolatey flavour. Coupled with a slightly crisp top surface layer, I was sold on my first bite! 😋 Do consume it while it's still hot for a better enjoyment! 😉 Pairing it with heart stop ice cream (brown butterscotch with chocolate cake chunks), the ice cream was smooth, creamy with a lingering caramelised flavour and fragrance that was pleasantly sweet with a subtle tinge of saltiness. The chocolate cake chunks embedded within were dense and fudgy, which no doubt pales in comparison to the brownie cookie. In fact, I enjoyed this brownie cookie much more than the matcha lava one!

Matcha lava cookie set [$8.90] Each cookie lava set are inclusive of one scoop of ice cream of your choice.

Only plopped onto the warm cookie upon serving, be prepared with that insta and boomerang-worthy sight (swipe once to view) 😻 as the molten lava explodes out from the cookie upon contact with the cold ice cream scoop. The cookie had a texture that I adore, soft, moist and chewy interior with a slightly crisp exterior. Best to have it while it's still hot and warm! The matcha lava was creamy and thick, with a subtle lingering earthy flavour that could have been more distinct. I had my set paired with eternal garden ice cream (made using tea from @1872clippertea ), a floral rose tea flavours that had a pleasant lingering floral fragrance, refreshing and aromatic indeed! Ice cream are all made in house, with unique flavours and funky names e.g. Piko piko, heart stop, black dog etc. Really really fancy the service here, with the friendly crew that took the effort to replace a whole new cookie lave set for me, upon witnessing the poor ice cream sweating miserably in the pan after I was done with taking photos😅. Thumbs up for the impeccable service 👍🏻👍🏻, with the creamery folks gladly and enthusiastically offering free samples of the ice cream and making recommendations prior to your purchases . .

Large Thai milk tea [$1.75 UP: $3.50]
Large Thai green milk tea - less ice [$1.95 UP:$3.90]
As part of @tuktukcha 's 1st anniversary, all items are going at a whooping 50% off just for 4th july!

YES ANY ALA CARTE ITEM ON THE MENU AT ALL OUTLETS! 😍💖 Fancy the fact that the beverages come with your choice of sugar level, which I chose 5% for the Thai green milk tea and 25% for the Thai milk tea. My heart is still leaned towards the Thai green milk tea, with a lingering jasmine floral fragrance that perfumed through the earthy notes of green tea. The Thai milk tea was indeed the best that I've had (locally), with a sweetness level done right, a luscious milky flavour with a distinctive lingering earthy note .
