A moon cake inspired flavour? πŸ€” Perfect for the upcoming moon cake festival indeed! (If mooncakes aren't your kind of thing) Would have been great if the salted egg cremeux was more flowy but nevertheless, its distinctive flavour and pleasant lingering saltiness deserves a thumbs up! Adorned with a ring of white lotus seed mousse which was soft, light, its pleasant tinge of sweetness was an ideal companion and counterbalance to the saltiness of the salted egg cremeux. The coconut cake was spongy with a cotton-like softness, though not a significant contribution to the flavours. What I fancied most here is the base of salted sesame peanut praline that was crispy, with a subtle roasted flavour and mild lingering pleasant salty aftertaste πŸ˜‹ .

✨ A lava cake served in a reverse way, with vanilla ice cream as the base of a molten chocolate lava cake. The highlight here is no doubt, the chocolate lava cake (which is what the shop specializes in after all - chocolates🍫) that came with a thick and fudgy warm chocolate lava (swipe to the end to view its flowy texture) in the core of a chocolate lava cake that's sufficiently moist, soft with slightly crisp edges. The chocolate lava was luscious, chocolatey and packs a punch with its rich cocoa flavour that would appeal to the hardcore chocoholics. On the other hand, the vanilla ice-cream was milky, smooth and creamy which surprisingly still manage to retain a decent shape and rigidity despite contact with its warm albeit ideal companion .

While the texture was on point with crisp edges, I would personally prefer if the interior was denser, with a soft, fluffy and cake-like texture. The batter also lacked the characteristic buttery fragrance too 😒. Thank god the homemade ice cream here made up for that slight disappointment I had for their waffles! Exclusively available for September are 3 tea flavours available in a single sitting: Uji matcha, genmaicha and houjicha. What a tea-riffic excuse for me to head down and try them all! As I have tried the genmaicha flavour previously, I decided to head straight for the other 2 tea flavours. The uji matcha is embedded with nibs of chocolate coated mixed nuts that added a pleasant crunch factor. Thank god it isn't the usual partner in crime: red bean that I personally loathe! πŸ™πŸ» The matcha flavour was surprisingly distinct, with a lingering earthy note and a bitter undertone. The intensity of flavour here would suit the matchaholics (which I am one too)! πŸ’š The houjicha flavour, on the other hand, paled in comparison. Despite having a distinctive roasted flavour, the intensity decreased gradually the more you indulge, which I would have wished for a reverse effect πŸ˜…. Texture for both flavours were smooth, creamy and melt-in-the mouth that I adore! πŸ’– (PS: Heard that 2 new Japanese inspired flavours are going to be launched soon too! Can't wait to try! πŸ˜‹) .

A tiramisu inspired dessert, this parfait is a tad different from the usual softserve layered with toppings, but comes with ladyfinger biscuit (unsoaked) served with fluffy kuromitsu espuma to retain a pleasant crunch factor. Swipe to view the different elements that comprised this seasonal parfait. Dusted with kinako powder (in replacement of coco powder in tiramisu), the espuma is foamy, soft and cotton-like that that complemented well with the crunchy and crisp ladyfinger biscuit. Would personally prefer if the ladyfinger biscuits are soaked in rum though, for a more tiramisu inspired feel πŸ˜‚. The kinako kuromitsu softserve was smooth, creamy with a distinct characteristic roasted flavour that was milder with the incorporation of kuromitsu (black sugar honey). Neverthless, it still carries off a subtle lingering roasted aroma coupled with a pleasant tinge of sweetness from kuromitsu. Wished there was more softserve too! πŸ˜… With a base of chewy albeit firm brown sugar tea jelly, the combination of the different elements managed to achieve a complementary, satisfactory factor to the palate but unfortunately as satisfying for the visuals πŸ™ˆ .

Or simply customize your own with choice of 2 toppings and a sauce. Each parfait also comes with a chocolate coated wafer cone ; apparently the ones left were broken and the staff was kind enough to offer extra toppings and a 10% discount for my purchase. Awesome service indeed! πŸ’– For the toppings, I picked savoury crunch and vegan brownies and for the sauce, caramelised peanut butter. In collaboration with @matchayasg , @tomspalettesg had came up with a special limited edition flavor- Kinako Kuromitsu which is a combination of Japanese brown sugar and soybean flavour. Dairy free, the texture is less creamy and lighter to the palate, with bits of chewy brown sugar jelly embedded within. The roasted flavour and aroma was distinct and lingering, lightly sweetened with kuromitsu. Personally would have preferred for a stronger and more intense roasted flavour though. The savoury crunch came in huge chunks that were crisp with a subtle savoury note but didn't had much significant impact to the flavours and texture to the parfait. Regretted requesting for more sauce, as the sweetness of sticky and gooey caramelised peanut butter sauce got quite overwhelming after awhile. Though there was a characteristic lingering nutty flavour of peanut butter, it would have been better if the sauce was less sticky and thick with perhaps some bits of crunch embedded within .

Surprisingly a good dessert that surpassed expectations despite the simple outlook. The banana compote is soft, mushy with a characteristic fruity sweetness whereas the apples were slightly crunchier, with a tinge of caramelised sweetness. The oat crumbles were crisp, crumbly, a pleasant crunch factor to the softer elements. Vanilla ice cream was smooth, creamy and milky, a decent albeit pleasant addition to the warm dessert .

Each set comes with an iced matcha latte topped up with either a matcha azuki donut (UFO) or matcha melon pan. Pretty cool and interesting presentation I would say, though they are served separately for easier consumption. The iced matcha latte was milky, with a distinct lingering earthy note that could have been stronger and less sweet IMO. It gets a little diluted after some time hence do drink it fast. As for the pastries that came along, the matcha azuki donut might appeal to those with a sweet tooth, with a matcha white chocolate coating atop the fluffy and doughy pastry that also came with azuki bean paste sandwiched within. On the other hand, the matcha melon pan was soft and pillowy with a crisp and polo-alike surface layer. On the downside, the flavours of matcha was faint and subtle for both desserts. Definitely not for the hardcore matchaholics (which I am one πŸ™ˆ). .

This miso cheesetart is definitely a must-try here, one of their signature bakes. Though the combination might sound a little bizarre and odd for some, it was a surprisingly winning combination. A subtle umami flavour that came with a tinge of saltiness of the miso caramel sauce drizzled onto the creamy, luscious cheese tart- one mouth and I was sold! πŸ’–The tart crust was also firm, solid albeit a little crumbly with a lingering buttery fragrance that I adore! Though I would personally prefer a thicker tart crust, the combination of miso caramel with the rich creamy cheese just made my 1hr+ journey for this cafe was all worth it! πŸ˜‹ A quiet, peaceful place to chill over a cuppa too, though seats are pretty limited. .

Along with the same solid and crumbly tart crust, the thick and fudgy chocolate ganache was bittersweet with a strong cocoa flavour, suited to those who fancy dark chocolates! Along with mini marshmallows and bits of nuts atop the thick chocolatey layer, sinful but no regrets indeed! .

The coffee flavour was surprisingly distinct and robust with a lingering bitter undertone and aroma. Texture is soft, fluffy though a little dry for my liking. The milky cream filling added a tinge of sweetness that was a good counter balance to the otherwise bitter bun. The top layer of chocolate chip embedded crust was crisp, crumbly that reminded of the polo bun's crust but without the pineapple carvings! πŸ˜‚ A bread that would appeal to the true coffee lovers with its rich, strong notes of caffeine aroma and bitter undertone .

PS: There's also a whooping 1-for-1 every Wednesday 2-5pm for the waffles! πŸ’– A mixture of coffee and milk tea is infused into the waffle batter which brought out an aromatic, lingering coffee aroma and subtle earthy notes of the tea. The texture of these waffles won hands down- a crisp exterior and soft, fluffy cake-y interior that I simply adore. The batter was also fragrant and aromatic with a distinctive coffee/tea flavour and aroma! πŸ˜‹ Though I had a pretty heavy lunch prior to this, I managed to polish off an entire portion to myself, with no regrets indeed. The condensed milk drizzled over added a pleasant tinge of sweetness as well as the vanilla ice cream that was smooth, creamy and milky, garnished with crisp feuilletine-alike flakes with a flavour that resembled more of dessicated coconut flakes IMO. Pretty plating/visuals with an impressive taste, looking forward to the next waffles of the month flavour indeed! πŸ’•

As a major fan of Thai green tea, my initial anticipation of this waffle vanished instantly when the waffles was served. Not a single hue of green was observed, this could just be simply known as a buttermilk waffle instead πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ. The flavour of thai green tea was really mild and barely detectable, no scent and sense after the ice cream came into place πŸ˜‚. The texture was slightly crisp with a light, airy, soft and limpy interior that was yet another major drawback. The only saving grace was the ice cream, wherr both scoops were smooth, creamy and thick. The flavours that we ordered were: Pisang (banana & honey) and what the fudge (dark chocolate with chocolate chips). The Pisang was listed as their best seller, which true enough did not disappoint with its luscious, pleasant fruity sweetness. What the fudge came with bits of chocolate chips embedded within the sphere of chocolatey, bittersweet scoop. My personal advice would be to skip the waffles here and just go for the ice cream! 😌 .
