Tom’s will always have a special place in my heart (and stomach) heh 😂 Have been coming here for the longest time! My foreverrr bias is their savory flavour: Parmesan Cheese & Cream Crackers, made with 14-month parmigiano-reggiano cheese with white choco coated cream crackers.

Love how the team is always looking to come up with new & locally inspired flavours. You’ll probably have difficulty deciding with their whole range of flavours on rotation, so it’s especially helpful that you get to pick 2 flavours with each cup! If you’re on Burpple Beyond, they have 1 for 1s for their medium takeaway cups ✌🏻

Who doesn’t like the sound of ‘1 for 1 gelato scoops’! It’s the last 2 days of promo (till 27 June) now at Sweet Cheeks’ new outlet in Jalan Besar (just opp of Chye Seng Huat)! We popped by yesterday to catch a pre-dinner dessert heh.

Single scoop is at $4, doubles at $7.50, with a dollar top up for premium flavours and $2 top up for gourmet flavours. Waffle at $6.

Had their Honey Chrysanthemum & Cacao Nibs + Biscoff Cookie Crunch on a waffle with golden syrup drizzled on the base. The other sauce option was chocolate. Scoops here have a much thicker and stickier texture, and you’ll find a pretty wide range - others that caught our eye was the Lemon Curd and Honey Comb. Highlight for us, was their buttery waffle! Haven’t had waffle for a while now and this was so fragrant, with a really nice and light crisp on its exterior. Fluffy and not too airy!

Still one of our go-tos for a trusty and rich dark chocolate ice cream treat!

Got to try Poppy Pops’ gelato thanks to a dear friend who sent these pints over! They have fun flavours that rotate monthly, with new additions each time - a few from this month of May are Thai Milk Tea Coconut Fudge, Truffle Honey & Chilli Mango! Had the classic Chocolate ($13) and Brown Sugar Raspberry ($13). The chocolate was thick and not too sweet, while the brown sugar raspberry was an interesting one! It was a lighter flavour that had a light brown sugar sweetness with slightly more tangy swirls of raspberry. Definitely would have loved more raspberry in this, but we still quite enjoyed it. Their spot at JEM is open for takeaways now, with free islandwide delivery for orders above $50.

Redeemed this for free with a MBS voucher. It is pricey at its original price tag, but it was also a super rich, dense and sinful scoop of chocolate hazelnut gelato. Texture was thick and smooth. It was more on the sweeter end than what we usually prefer, but we didn’t mind the indulgence! If you have Burpple Beyond, you can get 1 for 1 of their regular scoops, chocolate bars and mix chocolates.

Their Black Forest has 70% chocolate sorbet, cherry compote, mascarpone and crumble. Again, it’s pricey, but we also appreciated the variety in textures which made it fun to have. Liked the bittersweet chocolate, this was really similar to a Black Forest cake in ice cream form 😂

Understand from the owners that they are currently working on more flavours and items to introduce!

Impromptu ice cream stop to the new Dimanche 49, a takeaway spot tucked along Suites at Bukit Timah! They have a fixed 5 flavours on the menu for now. Each scoop is paired with a unique set of toppings and an option to top up to swap from cups to their chai tea flavoured cones. There were only 2 flavours available when we popped by - Wild Strawberries and Black Forest. Other 3 are Tiramisu, Praline and Ispahan.

The Wild Strawberries had strawberry gelato, mascarpone, microsponge and crumble. This was a very pretty cup and we did appreciate the variety in textures. The strawberry gelato was a bit more on the milky end, while I would have liked a more distinct strawberry tangy-ness from. Quite a pricey cup, but was a pretty refreshing one.

Was so happy to be back at Denzy Gelato! Had to wait quite a bit for a table but as usual, service was friendly and we enjoyed their gelato very much. First try of their waffle today and it’s not the best, but it didn’t disappoint either. Liked that it wasn’t too airy and had a good crisp! The two scoops we picked were Yoghurt Speculoos (Premium) and Whisky & Salted Pecan Brittle (Specialty).

Always loved Denzy’s Honey Yoghurt flavour and when I saw the Yoghurt Speculoos, I had to try! Thought these two flavours went very nicely together. The speculoos didn’t overwhelm the tangy yoghurt and there were bits of crunchy biscoff included. The Whisky & Salted Pecan Brittle was not bad though not as striking in its flavour, but as with the other scoops so far, liked the creamy texture and that it wasn’t too sweet. Waffle was $5 with a scoop of gelato at $3, and top up of $1 for premium flavours or $1.20 for specialty flavours.

Broke my unlucky food streak day yesterday when we didn’t have to queue much here at Roji! First step in was to the cute DIY ordering counter to decide on 1 of the 4 ice cream flavours and 2 toppings - we went with matcha ice cream + Oreo cream cheese + salted cherry jelly. Other ice cream flavours were Belgian chocolate, milk and black sesame.

The portion was smaller than what we estimated from photos. A pity that the toppings we had were average and didn’t add much to the whole dessert, but we enjoyed the matcha shaved ice cream sheets that had bittersweet tones. Wouldn’t be something I’d queue long for, but was a fun dessert to have!

Ben & Jerry’s newest flavour collaboration with Netflix! Flavour’s brown butter bourbon and almonds ice cream with roasted almonds and cherries. I’m not a huge fan of almond flavoured foods, but enjoyed this! Chunks of cherries gave nice bits of sweetness.

Spotted this new flavour that was available in replacement of the Mango Passion flavour! While it was a bit sweet for me, how these two flavours came together was a pleasant surprise. The coconut part lent that refreshing touch on top of the lychee’s fruity sweetness. They didn’t overwhelm each other as well. Texture of this scoop was creamy and slightly thick/sticky.

Note that both the signature and their sorbet flavours are not applicable for Burpple Beyond.

Had good scoops of gelato here at Burnt Cones, though a bit pricey. Went for the Mango Passion & 85% Dark Chocolate - getting two scoops will have them coming in a cup like that with the dry ice fog effect! Would have like a tad bit stronger of that dark chocolate bitterness, but it was very rich with an impressive creaminess that we enjoyed a lot. Thought the Mango Passion scoop would be icy like common sorbet flavours, but glad it wasn’t, though it was a touch sweeter. The two flavours also came together nicely, sweet with the passionfruit tang. Will be back to try more and would love to see new flavours!

There’s Burpple Beyond here but they don’t apply to the signature flavours of pistachio & 85% dark chocolate. Regular premium flavours are $5 for single, $9 for double, while signature ones are +$1 for single scoop, +$2 for double.
