We enjoyed the refreshing fish tacos ($23) with a zingy mango salsa complemented by tasty curly fries. While the truffle scrambled eggs and parma ham were pleasant, the Academics Breakfast ($25) was disappointing as the bread was hard (with butter and jam provided only upon request), beans tasted like it came out of a can and the sausage was tough with too little fat. Overall we find that this restaurant is worth it with Burpple Beyond but it would be too pricey otherwise.
The "Full Works" is great if you love brunch but can't stand petite food portions. The scrambled eggs, brioche and chicken sausage were pleasant. The bacon fats do melt in your mouth. However as much as the mushrooms looked chunky and decadent, it did not really deliver on the flavour. The little element which really stood out was the 'hashbrowns' which were in fact fried mashed potato balls. The balls were creamy on the inside and it was rather flavourful with just the right level of saltiness. Overall it was a pretty satisfying (and filling) brunch!
