The soufflé was puffed up so majestically that it made other wannabes look bad. Served with a scoop of salted caramel ice cream and serving of chocolate sauce, this is pure bliss as you eat it with the warm chocolaty cloud-like soufflé. "It's so fluffy that I'm gonna die"

Served with oatmeal crumble and vanilla ice cream, I absolutely love this dessert. Definitely showcased the chef's finesse in the plating and attention to details as it was executed brilliantly. The nuttiness from the oatmeal, freshness from the apple and lightness of the ice cream goes well with each other.

Another disappointing starter which was saved by the maytag blue cheese fondue. Besides that, the chips were hard and lukewarm. Definitely not recommending this and you should give this a miss too.

Slightly disappointing as pasta was bland without much oomph in the flavouring. Did the chef forget the salt and olive oil? However, the chef didn't scrimp on the dungeness crab as it was plentiful, adding a seafood element into the dish. However, it would be so much better to eat it on its own without the pasta.

Another one of the better dishes of the night as the half chicken was more than enough to fill two persons. Marination in the chicken was on the point and the broccolini brought a touch of class to the plate. Looks unassuming but comes with an explosion of flavours.

Dining in a celebrity chef's restaurant, you are expected to pay a premium. This was no exception as it is considered upscale in terms of the living standards. However, we just have to give it a go considering that dining in such restaurants in Singapore will cost a bomb and since we are already in Shanghai.

Overall, there were more hits than misses and it is definitely a place that I would recommend and worth revisiting again when I am back in Shanghai. Pictured is the favourite of the night, the Roasted Mushroom Pizza (RMB 89) that has truffled creme fraiche, taleggio and arugula. This was so good that all the slices were gone very quickly. I was sold at the combination of flavours, size of the pizza and ingredients that go into it.

This slice of dark chocolate cake (Royal Classic) is pure decadent and never fails to amaze even though we had it a couple of times before. Using 58% dark cocoa, it has a bittersweet flavour that goes so well with a cup of coffee or tea. You will truly have a magical chocolate experience with the smooth velvety chocolate ganache and chocolate sponge.

This is the famed 口水鲶鱼 from Sichuan cuisine that involves cooking the sliced fish in oil and water with lots and lots of mala spices. Be careful when eating these as one bite on the potent peppercorn will lead you straight to the toilet bowl. However, this is still a massive favourite here seeing the long queues especially during lunch hours.

Queued for almost 2 hours, even after we made a reservation just to get a table at this famed restaurant.

The tomato soup broth is just uber yummy and service staff as usual delivered impeccable service. An enjoyable meal at a fraction of a price as compared to back home.
