Pasta Go And Try!
[MEDIA] The Nero De Seppia with Seared Scallops [$19/ $29] is one seafood lover’s dream with al dente squid ink pasta cooked in garlic with a splash of white wine, homemade broth, and cherry tomatoes for extra colour and flavour. Fnished with cream, butter parsley and shaved Grana Padano, this simple, yet classic dish is easy to enjoy. With a little more plump scallops, this would be a perfect entree.

I’ve had mixed experiences at SONS over the four years I’ve fined there and I gotta say, your experience really depends on ordering the “right” things that the restaurant is stronger in
The Squid-Ink Tagliolini [$24++] is one of those dishes that could satisfy the tastebuds with a few tweaks. The tagliolini has a good bite and yields characteristically briny flavours from the squid ink, and the wild cuttlefish tastes fresh and has a similar spring to it. While the portion of pasta was enough for me, I did wish that SONS could be more generous with the amount of cuttlefish. That said this pretty much does the job if you’re looking for some lunchtime indulgence!

As one of the highest priced items on the menu {$17.90}, this dish pulls no punches in the spice department. While it was too spicy for my liking, it could be a good idea for Estation Cafe to introduce different levels of spice to suit individual tastes.

Prawn and Spinach Aglio Olio Linguine {$19+} remained piping hot even after 5 - 10 minutes (good news for finicky food photography enthusiasts). Linguine was perfectly al debate, with a touch of earthy flavours from the spinach purée. An otherwise perfect dish that was sadly marred by less than fresh prawns (change your prawn supplier LOTS!)

The Saveur Pasta, a starter of angel hair pasta and dried shrimp, doubles as a small meal if you're not particularly hungry but looking for something to fill your tummy nonetheless.
You can never have too much furikake, and Dapper Coffee's vegetarian pasta proves it. Topped with runny egg, this dish packs a kick in its nori-cashew pesto. A must try whether you're a pasta lover.
