So fresh so clean and so tasty! Pick and choose from a list of ingredients to customise your own bowls. I’d recommend getting the soba with tom yum dressing here. The noodles are smooth with the right amount of bite, and when they’re slick in that tangy, slightly fiery sauce — delish! All meats and fish (except their baked Dory) are made with a sous vide machine here, which makes for stellar doneness. A great affordable and healthy option. Owner and Chef, Shannen, is also very friendly and accommodating — thanks for having us!

From Nasi Coco at NeWest — the new Tendon X Nasi Lemak concept takes the spot of now-defunct Thrive Kitchen, serving up dishes that focuses on the use of coconut.

Almost essentially the full works of the menu here, the Nasi Coco Supreme comes with Tempura pieces such as seasonal vegetables, chicken, prawn and even luncheon meat, while coming with an option of either lava egg or sous-vide egg. Tempura items were crisp, though the batter felt that it could have been lighter — the Nasi Lemak comes pretty fluffy and aromatic, carrying an evident hint of coconut-y fragrance while the sambal packs a punch being fiery yet sweet. Ikan bills were also pretty crisp as well. A pretty interesting take on Tendon and Nasi Lemak — quite substantial at $9.90.

Just a short walk from Kent Ridge MRT is this enclave of 17 restaurants curated by the folks behind Timbre and Timbre+. Diners at Savourworld can choose to sit in the individual air-conditioned restaurants or opt for the umbrella seats in the courtyard should they want to order from multiple restaurants. There are no overlapping cuisines or dishes, so you won't be torn between ordering the same dish from two different places. Familiar names like Spruce and Blue Lotus even offer different menus from their other outlets, so you get to try something new. Drop by Coffee Break in the morning for their Black Sesame Premium Toast ($3.30) and get $0.30 off your bill with any drink order. During lunch, grab a seat at Tokyo Joe and tuck into their super fresh Signature Bara Chirashi ($16). For the sweet-toothed, indulge in a scoop of Ice Cream ($3.80) from Licktionary and don't leave without getting your Thai Milk Tea (from $2.30) fix at Cha Tra Mue. Pro tip: Many of the restaurants offer Happy Hour prices for their booze, so make this your next afterwork watering hole!

A big ensemble! The mutton is definitely the star of the show though - flavourful and resilient as mutton ought to be. Chicken is good too but the fish is unremarkable, its fishiness showing as it cools.

I had the beef rendang and added an extra fried chicken. The twice cooked #coconut #rice was definitely fragrant and flavourful. While the #beef Rendang was tender and the gravy complements the rice. Fried #chicken was crispy. However, the sambal was a little too dry for my liking though. I wish I could spread it more smoothly on my rice...Would I come back? Maybe...just for the rendang version.

Needed somewhere quiet to read up on some notes for school and headed down to the far west where I had the entire cafe to myself.

New on the menu and created by Chef Shen Tan is the Mille Crepe Ondeh-Ondeh (or Kueh Dadar Mille Crepe if you refer to Chef Shen's Instagram). Apart from the slightly thick Pandan crepes, this was absolutely enjoyable and replicates both the Kueh Dadar and Ondeh-Ondeh quite closely; layers of cream and desiccated coconut drenched in Gula Melaka alternates within the entire cake and is actually nicely sweet without going over the bar. Good to share amongst two and works very well with the nutty Iced Long Black I ordered as well.

4 munchies: Almost all the ingredients that I love in our iconic hawker staple are found in this plate of Bak Chor Mee Pasta. Tossed in a punchy chilli-vinegar sauce and topped with crispy lard, the handmade tagliatelle was cooked firm to the bite. Although nothing could really beat the good ol' bak chor mee with a bowl of rich broth served at the side, I particularly enjoyed the tender chunks of five-spice pork confit that were marinated with coffee grounds for that hint of smoky flavour. #Burpproved #revoluSHEN

This was definitely my sort of Bak Chor Mee — thick tagliatelle that strangely bears the same yellow as our local Mee Pok in a piquant, vinegar-heavy sauce with crispy pork lard and the same 5 Spice Pork Confit from our Nasi Lemak order. Each slurp definitely brings out flavours reminiscent of Bak Chor Mee — in fact it's much like having the real deal but with flavours way more intense; the way I like mine, while there were a good amount of crispy pork lard served here as compared to hawker stalls. Some might feel that it's pretty pricey for $19.90, but it's actually rather satisfying and filling for it comes loaded with a huge portion of noodles.

Rice was fragrant, chilli packed kick and chicken thigh was tender and juicy! 😋 and I finally made the trip to w39 after a long time!

Benefits of a student. Where else can you find an ayam bakar at $3.90! (And ayam penyet under $5!) #burpplecheapngood Furthermore they give you the option of brown rice. So it's not just cheap and good, it's #cheapnhealthy. Except the brown rice gets sold out pretty fast, so rmb to come early!

It's lunch time! Time for a yummy lunch!! Honestly speaking, I prefer this then the one upstairs...
