Breakfast For The Morns
The local set of kaya butter toast is different from most others because they use a round bun here instead of the traditional thin bread. The buns are toasted in a big oven, right before serving providing it with a char around the edges.
Kaya here is housemade. We'd to wait for our order for quite a bit though, as the order-taking was slightly disorganised hence them forgetting our order. You'll have to share tables too if it gets too crowded (which it often is) as seating space is quite limited.

Family-run and prices are kept low ($4.30 for all these). Love the old school vibes, but would prefer my traditional toasted bread. They also have other bakes such as cream puff (really the childhood kind) and egg tarts.
This is old-style French toast from a traditional coffee shop stall no less. What stood out the most for me, apart from the eggy fragrance of the bread and buttery aroma with the sweet hainanese kaya, was the hint of charcoal-toasted taste that you get. 💫
Seldom do you find it anymore. Old-style through and through ($3 for 2 pieces). Indulge with a cup of teh
Oooo to oozyyy Peanut Butter French toast ($5.90). Loved the generous pool of oh so liquid melty peanut butter and eggy exterior, but share. It's bread overload.
Sweet Potato Toast. Came to try the yam and butter, but they have changed their specials to this and also salted cream cheese (sounds tempting too). Good to see the inventiveness but at $3...I think I'd rather Coffee Break? :X
