Thought this dish would work better if the sauce was less thick and creamy and if the tom yum spiciness was pushed slightly up a notch! That said, good to know that The White Button has $15 set dinners - your choice of main, a soup of the day and a soft drink.

Really enjoyed the harmonious combination of the various elements here - fresh and crunchy tiger prawns, strips of goma kombu, crispy rich sakura shrimps, all with a slight garlicky based al dente spaghetti plus a tinge of heat. Easily a very likeable dish!

Thank you @artistrysg for hosting us and @burpple for the kind invite! 🙆🏻

A lovely dessert for sharing to end your meal! The thick yet fluffy blueberries and ricotta hotcake is served warm with crisp edges around and topped with a generous scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, crunchy toasted sunflower seeds, fresh fruits and maple syrup. Looks simple but it has quality, done very well with the combination of textures and flavours!

The all time favourite and signature burger here at Artistry, I FINALLY got to try it and okay yes, I get the hype. Just look at that mad thick patty that’s filled crazy generously with handpicked blue swimmer crabmeat! The patty’s sandwiched between soft toasted sundried tomato brioche buns and you can pick either shoestring fries or mesclun greens as the side. The cup of housemade chilli crab sauce was authentic and rich with a good amount of heat. So addictive that we ended up dipping all our fries and burger buns in it too!

Where else do you find steak and frites for $17! And these are quite good. I like the flavour of the beef, and its juices was already oozing out as I was cutting through this.. look at the juicy mess it had left behind 😋

Chockful of flaky meat, the crabcake certainly doesn't stinge on crustacean nor does it possess the stale gumminess commonly found in crabcakes of lesser establishments. Complemented by a nicely charred and stringy potato rosti, as well as a concentrated onion jam, the hollandaise smothered oozy poached egg was almost overshadowed by its supporting cast.

Taste: 4/5

Sea Salt Gula Melaka - the Asian sibling of salted caramel ice cream reminded me of buttery brown sugar and freshly baked cookies. Topped by crunchy caramel roasted almonds mikado and fluffy Gula Melaka mochi, it was the perfect sinful indulgence.

Hazelnut milk chocolate, on the other hand, was a rich creamy affair. I absolutely loved the almond thins and honey toasted granola crumbles.

From Kogane Yama, a new spot for Tendon/Tempura situated beside Chir Chir at Bugis Junction. Possibly one of the most customizable spots for Tendon around, patrons are able to choose between different bowls (Prawn/Chicken/Vegetables/Mixed) with their desired base (Udon/Soba/Rice) as well as their choice of sauce (Non-Spicy/Spicy Level 1/2/3). The bowls can be ordered as a set with Chawanmushi and Miso Soup/Green Tea for an additional $2++.

The Mixed Bowl comes with quite a variety of Tempura items, including chicken, prawn, long beans, carrots, seaweed, shiso leaf, enoki mushroom, capsicum and shiitake mushroom; also opted for Spicy Level 2 for my bowl. All the Tempura items come lightly battered and crisp, drenched in the spicy Soy Tentsuya Sauce that provides quite a kick. Of particular mention would be the tender and moist chicken and the extremely crisp shiso leaf; the seaweed might be a little hard to chew apart after a while so it would probably be recommended to have it first. Quite a good bowl of Tendon; generous portions here, just make sure you have got some stomach space and an appetite for fried food before going into the situation (pretty much the same for most Tendons out there actually) to enjoy it to the fullest.

Overloaded ourselves with durian at After You's newest concept, After You Durian 😍 (but oh my, we braved through a 40-table wait). Here's the Durian Sticky Rice Toast - three scoops of creamy durian ice cream and a scoop of sticky rice on top one of the best toasts around (plus a cup of durian purée)! Toast is the same as it's parent cafe - super crispy, buttery and just hits all the right notes of what a toast should be. It feels super heaty but super shiok at the same time! This is really for the hardcore durian lovers and even so, share the love or it might get a bit jelat. We also preferred this to the Durian Sticky Rice Kakigōri for the greater variation in flavours and textures.

A customized one of cause! Starting from $10.90, diners can now have an option to design their own bibimbap for lunch! My stone pot lunch consists of purple rice, spicy pork, sautéed mushrooms, kimchi, corn and an sous vide egg. Mix them up well with a side of gochujang sauce and you're all ready for a healthy Korean lunch.

This fully air-conditioned mookata restaurant on the eighth floor of Orchard Central is perfect for your next get-together session with friends you haven't met in a while! Prices start from $18.80 for lunch and $28.80 for dinner with free flow of drinks. Choose one of four soup bases — bonito, chicken, tom yum or salted egg yolk (more of a dip than a soup base), before loading up your plate with king crabs, bamboo clams and slipper lobsters. The unagi, beef cubes and scallops are great for grilling and dipping into their housemade sauces like the lip-smackingly good green seafood sauce. If it's your first time handling slipper lobsters, get the friendly Talay Kata staff to guide you in cracking open the shell, so you don't waste time trying to cook the meat with the shell still on (...like we did). The stellar spread of meats and seafood is more than sufficient to feed everyone; but if not, there's always the DIY Som Tum and shaved ice dessert stations to turn to! Pro tip: From Mondays to Thursdays, students and National Servicemen enjoy 15 percent off their bill when they flash their student or NS card!

Just across the road from Beauty World MRT Station is this homey Korean restaurant owned and run by Koreans — an indication that the food here is as authentic as it gets. If that isn't enough to convince you, here's another fact — the restaurant is usually packed with twice as many Korean patrons than Singaporeans so expect to wait around 20 minutes for a table during peak hours. When your body is in need of a soothing pot of spicy stew, be sure to order the Sundubu Jjigae ($10 for seafood) — a bubbling cauldron for one consisting of smooth tofu, vegetables and finished with a raw egg cracked in the middle, served with a side of rice. Their side dishes ('banchan' in Korean) like sausages, kimchi and omelette, are stellar. These are refillable till you're happily stuffed!
