A lovely little homey warung located in the middle of nowhere, Depot Betty can whip up an unbelievably lip-smacking plate of chopped up pork parts that burst with flavour! From the amazing crackling down to the deep fried pig's blood, a plate of this goodness will fill you right up with utmost satisfaction for only IDR 45,000 (~SGS4.50). Word of advice, though: Remember to ask them to hold the spice if you're not a big fan of heat, or else you're in for a real kicker!
There's just something comforting about a simple plate of bebek goreng (deep fried crispy duck) that I can't seem to put my finger on. It was my first time trying this dish and I was left speechless at every mouthful of duck that was crispy at first bite but proceeded to melt in my mouth right after. What makes it so unbelievably delicious is the lip-smacking sambal ijo (green chili paste ground with local herbs and calamansi) lathered over the duck, adding an INSANE myriad of flavours to the palate. A "paket" meal sets you back IDR109,000 (~SGD10.90) and it comes with a plate of rice and ulam, a bowl of soup, and a glass of freshly made orange juice.
Not something we get to see on the menu! The goat's cheese definitely add some depth of flavour to the pasta dish (IDR59K, roughly SGD5.90), albeit a tad bit salty. Penne was rather springy still, but offsets the softened bell pepper and local vege.
Surprisingly better than what we usually get in Singapore! For IDR69K (~SGD6.90), this really hits the spot with spaghetti that's done al-dente with a generous helping of bolognese sauce and a good pile of mozzarella - delish in a dish!
