For the healthy eats. But it can be really delicious too!

DIY, healthy delicious bowls because each component is great even on its own. Super Bowl ($13.80) is a pick of 1 base (can be mixed), 3 sides, a protein and two sprinkles.
🐟 Pesto seabass 🍃 Bulgur couscous and chickpea base mixed with romaine
🥒 Grilled zucchini 🍆 Grilled eggplant 🥦 Chilli broccoli and cauliflower

Next round, I am so going for the wonderful falafel and hummus, which the others got.

Say aloha to the poke seasonal special - mentaiko salmon, shoyu tuna. An indulgent (for those who love their raw fish) but still healthy salad, in the guise of a 'poke' bowl. Don't know why but this is apparently a Hawaiian dish. Marinated fish cubes, on a bed of greens/brown rice/sushi rice with a choice of 2 toppings, and a standard roundoff of pineapple, lime and spring onion.
💫
Their poke bowls are really more yummy, compared to a said counterpart nearby. Standard bowl ($15.90) gets 2 scoops of the fish/other main. Tried a bit of a friend's spicy salmon, and it's the kind that's painfully addictive - fiery spicy, but leaves you wanting more. Looks like we'll be back soon.

Nothing like a sea salt chocolate chip cookie to chip away at any Monday blues. This one cookie is so big, you can easily split for twice. But I finished all in one seating anyway 😂 HKD 30 (SGD $5.50). Slightly chewy interior, a hint of buttery fragrance (but I am sure plenty more butter went into it) and thick pieces of chocolate chips dotted throughout, its sweetness balanced by the occasional sea salt granule. A balanced Flat White. Little quaint place for a jab of coffee halfway up one of the many slopes in #中環 #Central. Went back for it again before I left HK, by means of a souvenir. Because memories are such. The gingerbread 🍪 is also very decent (tried cos they were sold out the 1st time I returned)

A new DIY bowl concept in the CBD, except that this is opened by a local celeb in partnership with the folks behind Sin Lee Foods. The good thing is the food doesn't need the fame to prop it. Like that they incorporate asian flavours into the selections. Take the sautéed mushrooms, which is deliciously soft in savoury Chinese oyster sauce. Also the sweet roasted pumpkin and carrot mix. $14.

As far as salads go, this one is decently priced ($9.90) by CBD standards. Loving the roasted mushrooms and huge portion of grilled salmon(add on of $3) and asparagus. Go with the pesto sauce.

Semblance of a balance. Time to load up on the greens before all that irresistible Chinese New Year-munching starts. 💫

Chicken pesto salad. Loving the pesto, though it can be a tad too much of pesto strength if one isn't accustomed to the taste. I love pesto, so didn't mind at all. Good, but funnily think it's missing/could add something, as the sum of the parts aren't greater than the whole.

Quinoa salad with roast chicken and a cuppa soy latte to round off. 💫

Set lunches start at $15 for a main, a drink and a muffin. Don't overlook the ordinary chicken (add-on), it packs plenty of salt and pepper flavour with a tinge of roasted. Tis' a great place for that healthy balance (other choices include pesto pasta/couscous/brown rice salad starting at $8 aka carte) without a hole in your pocket. 💫
Don't be fooled by the small shopfront too. The place stretches 3 stories

Still not trading my grains for yours :P This is apparently likened by many to fancy 'economy rice' - and it's true at $16 a bowl. 💫
Your choice of a meat (pick the steak slices/salmon) plus 1 hot veg(charred veggies for me) and 2 cold veg and a sprinkle (shallots!) before topping off with a sauce (Asian Gravy this time, which tasted like Bbq sauce but more savoury - not bad). Healthy? Yes, more than your cai png definitely. For those on a diet? Maybe not - the portions add up and each component does contribute to the count, depending on whether your choice is 'lite'. No doubt delish ;)

Deceivingly basic, mixed mushroom, broccoli, pumpkin and cauliflower salad with a tangy balsamic vinaigrette. These greens/shrooms pack flavour, well sautéed and seasoned. ($14)

New eatery in the CBD serving up Poke (Poh-Kay) bowls.
Basically marinated raw tuna/salmon atop your choice of base (quinoa/greens/rice) and here, free flow of basic toppings such as pineapple and tomatoes. While the fish itself was not bad, this felt like a salad that didn't quite gel because all elements were separate.
Still, healthy. Comes in 2 sizes, regular ($11.90) and large ($15). By size, the difference is the amount of fish, not the bowl. Also interesting: they weigh each bowl here so you get your fair share.

Whoever said healthy can't be delicious - this can challenge it. Moroccan chicken skewers with mint yogurt, cous cous and greens.
Hearty portion too ($16) - meat and more meat. Fast service too

Grain Trader's Bowl ($16). Pico de gallo beans, warm roasted beets and carrots, wafuk tomatoes, and seared marinated tuna with furikake sprinkled. Round off with tamarind chipotle sauce that is tangy and savoury in one.
Delish though not cheap ($16) if only I can have the best of both worlds with a mixed base
