4 munchies: Served with steak-cut fries and mushy green peas, the battered fish fillet was deep-fried to golden brown perfection. It was meaty on the inside; light and crispy on the outside. Loved the piquant vinegar aroma of the batter that deems the tartar sauce or any other condiment unnecessary. Damn right, we even got a second plate to share!
The Chip Shop Fish & Chips is part of Swensen's "Around the World in more than 80 Days" menu for the month of September 2016. This was a hosted meal by Swensen's.
4.5 munchies: The dish of the night at SAVOUR 2016 goes to The Study's Iberico Pork Scotch Egg. Encased in a warm and moist shell made from vinegar-marinated minced Iberico pork, the egg was done on point with its yolk slightly oozing. While the foamy truffle air enhanced the dish with its softness and a touch of earthiness, the pickled beetroot gave it a punch of freshness.
The second instalment of SAVOUR 2016 is held from 9-11 Sep, located next to Marina Bay Sands Exhibition Centre. #savour2016 #LYDVoteDarren

4.5 munchies: Coated with earthy, mild-savoury squid ink, the beer-battered sea bass was deep-fried to crisp perfection (apparently the crispiness could stay up to an hour). But what I really loved about this dish was the meatiness and good bite of the sea bass – instead of the usual flaky dory used. Served with thick-cut fries, the refreshing house-made mint cider tartar complemented the fish perfectly.

What's in the burger: Fried chicken fillet, hash brown, jalapeños, slaw, and loaded with cheese and Russian dressing. Found the chicken on the drier side, but the velvety Russian dressing with a hint of spice and tang complemented the meat nicely. The HDB Tower Burger was crispy, cheesy, briny and spicy all-in-one. 3 munchies!
Swing by for their affordable lunch combos at $15 nett, available daily from 11.30am to 2.30pm. Diners get to pick any burger off the menu (priced at $19++ upwards; my friends loved the Dead Hippie) + a side of either the Buffalo salad, fries or slaw.

3 munchies: No doubt the slow-roasted Dingley Dell pork belly had some beautiful golden brown crackling on top, the base of the pork was unfortunately, dry and hard. The spiced apple in the overly thick purée was also not distinct enough. Thankfully for the great use of citrus from the diced fresh apples to balance the pork – served with a delish, savoury dark brown gravy.
