Some foods can be found everywhere, such as chicken rice, roasted meat, others can only be found at one place, such as this rickshaw noodles that was touted to be very authentic. I have never tried any other rickshaw noodles but I really like the one here. You get to pick you own ingredients (think economy bee hoon style) and your own carbs. Choose from Fried bee hoon, fried mee, mee Sua and yellow noodles. All of which goes super well with their crispy side dishes. All these for only $3, what a great deal!
This Spinach Soup at Amoy rakes in a long, winding, never ending queue and it's not surprise why. Aside from the heaps of spinach, the soup tastes light and clear with a small amount of seafood and meat. At $4/bowl, I guess it works for those who craving for healthy Chinese food!
It felt like I walked about 15-20 stories upwards from the bus stop at Lower Delta road - not the easiest place to get to via public transport on a hot afternoon. But if you're a keen vintage collector/hoarder, this trip up to Old Habits will be worth the burn.

This cafe is the embodiment of 乱中有序 (order in chaos), with all sorts of retro lights, posters, toys, furniture, analog clocks, etc covering almost every space inside, but yet neatly displayed. Waves of nostalgia will start sweeping over you the moment you spot the facade even from 5m away.

Food menu is a rather extensive western food selection, some with special elements like the seasalt caramel roast chicken or nyonya spicy casserole. You will not be disappointed by the homely delicious creations of the owner Don who is a self-taught chef, and I'm not exaggerating when I say you can taste sincerity in his food.

It is a MUST to try their Signature Frozen Salad - standard greens with fresh plump prawns, big crusty homemade croutons, topped with an unconventional ingredient - tomato ice cream. Think of it as ketchup sorbet, a sweet and tangy sauce slowly melting and enveloping the veggies, keeping them chilled and crunchy. Refreshing and delicious, this is easily top five of my favourite salads… now let me think about what the other four might be…

I won't be surprised if Old Habits has a handful of die-hard fans (geddit geddit)... They definitely had three more that Sunday afternoon.

The thick and solid marinaded beef patty was hiding under the melted cheese and an oversized sunny side up. Taste was decent but it would've been better if the beef patty was more savory and if it was a oozesome sunny side up. 🤓
I like hot buns and I cannot lie. Seriously though, this dessert made a scorching entrance with our waitress spooning flaming rum onto the pastry. I almost lost my eyebrows in the ensuing aftermath. Said pastry however, was more breadlike in texture than the Parisian version I'm accustomed to, and also lacked the crucial(in my eyes) step of being thoroughly pre-soaked in rum before being served, resulting in an overly strong outer coating of rum and slightly drier center. Sadly, I appreciated the spectacle of fire more than the dessert itself. Because, some men just want to watch the world burn.
Taste: 3/5
