We had 4 vegetarian-friendly mezzas to share at Urban Bites after yoga last Saturday. Cosy ambience and quiet surroundings on a Saturday at brunch time. ππ»βΊοΈ
I love Original Sin for their unique vegetarian mains and their crispy thin crusted pizzas. We had 2 to share that day: Diavola and Supremo. Iβd recommend Diavola for those who enjoys a hint of spice in their meals; grilled zucchini with onions, chillies, tomato salsa and of course, mozzarella. We shared a pasta too: Absolut. Penne pasta with pink sauce that had been flamed with Absolut vodka. So rich and creamy, hence a good choice that we had shared that too.
We saw the new Rasa Sayang burger and we had to try: it came with a mushroom patty, a vegan egg and doused in (vegan) sambal sauce. Can see the effort to veganise the famous Nasi Lemak burger; its unique but half the time, not sure what Iβm eating. π€ The coconut fries that we got in a set was simply fries topped with vegan mayo and coconut crisps. Would have preferred a more homogeneous mix of the ingredients with the fries. Of course, we got our usual favourites as well: Hawaiian Teriyaki and Avovado Beetroot; canβt go wrong. βΊοΈ
Finallyyy had the chance to visit this vegan burger place after Food King did their review and is Food-King good π I went for the Christmas edition of with fried battered portobello as the 'meat' with slaw and kale and lots of truffle umami flavour. Huge portion and big flavours I was a happy kid that day. π For something a bit lighter, you can go for the Avocado Beetroot one or the Mushroom one that comes with a soy patty that I find tastes pretty good too! Only wished Veganburg has more outlets in Singapore and perhaps one near me!
Finally tried out this vegetarian cafe after walking past it so many times! We had the Thunder Tea Rice ($8.50) and Chee Kueh ($5.50). The rice was tasty yet doesn't feel heavily seasoned with flavour so it felt pretty healthy! Each and every component complements and was done well (I found the fried vegetarian ikan bilis really interesting!). I'd recommend this place for those wanting something wholesome and healthy but still filling!
This is a place I've been long wanting to try and I think I've found my newest favourite vegetarian restaurant. Great food with an interesting fusion with Mediterranean flavours, lovely candle-light and wine appropriate ambience and warm hospitality from the friendly waitresses: 3 big thumbs up from me ππ»ππ»ππ» I had the Bosco Misto, which was made up of patties of spinach, tofu and feta in a sweet plum sauce. Very rich and filling and great for sharing. Our second dish was the Lasagna, which was a good choice to complement and cut through the richness from the first dish. Both very yummy dishes, looking forward to try out the many other options on the menu! π
Really excited to try out this vegetarian restaurant that was awarded a star in the Michelin BIB guide and was featured in a recent NOC Food King video! We went for all that were chef-recommended and everything we ordered was really way up there on the flavour-profile scale, with my personal favourites being the Olive Brown Rice and Enchanted Forest. I got to try so many varieties of mushrooms which I never know existed, and cooked in ways that is very similar to meat-dishes, e.g.: sweet and sour, rendang. A definite recommendation for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike!
Over so often I miss the taste of wholesome vegetarian food so I'm glad I was introduced here! I had the 5 course meal ($23.80+), starting from the elemen Appetiser, Spinach Salad, Edamame Tofu With Black Truffle Wild Rice, Coconut-infused Jelly with Watermelon Sorbet and Lavender Tea. I'd probably just go for the ala carte mains next time and do without the others which weren't all that impressive imo. Really loved the wild rice mix with yam and chickpeas, and the tofu which had an interesting texture (which I really liked) which made it seem more homemade. Also, liked that the waiter took time to walk us through each component of the appetiser and the order to eat them in. Great service and great ambience! π
Located in the hawker center along Bukit Batok St 31, Jing Yi Vegetarian seems to be a popular spot for vegetarians, considering how long the waiting time for the food was at dinner time. But they do serve really tasty and well-cooked dishes. Out of all the dishes we ordered, my favourites were the Assam Curry Fish, Omelette with Bittergourd and Rojak!
Chanced upon this vegetarian place while driving around Jalan Besar area because it's located quite prominently along the road. Lots of items on the menu, definitely left us spoiled for choices. The food was tasty, but on the oily side. Customer service was great though! Would revisit to try out the other menu items!
Tried the Chef Recommended dish and it really reminds me of the Chinese ηΈι ±ι’! Really liked the springy soya noodles with the mushroom 'minced meat' sauce. Came with straw mushrooms, shredded carrots and cucumbers and fried tofu. Entire dish was tasty and flavourful and the best part is that it's healthy too ππ» Tried the Strawberry Black Tea too, and it's great that it isn't overly sweet and that it's naturally sweetened with chopped strawberries!
Customised Bento Set ($7.90) comes with the choice of brown rice, white rice or sesame rice. The 3 side dishes includes a main and 2 vegetables. Loved the home-cooked taste of the dishes. And really liked the much raved rendang mushroom! ππ»
