New Japanese place at 16 Bussorah St. Went on a weekend lunch and they only had the lunch set. There were 4 don options, beef, unagi, salmon, and chicken. Each set cost about $13 and comes with green tea, miso soup and salad. Overall, thought the taste was pretty average, nothing special.

The texture of the noodle was good though the viscosity of the dipping sauce could be thicker. Overall the taste was average. The ingredients on the noodles made it slightly difficult to get to the noodles. And the chasu on the noodles was sweet which I found weird. The one stalk of vegetable also did not fit into this dish well. Service was efficient.

I came on a Thursday night so there was the $3 sashimi promotion. We (2 of us) ordered 20 slices although I could have eaten way more. I felt that the sashimi was pretty fresh and they gave a generous amount of wasabi which I love. We also ordered 2 rows of maki, the rockstar(?) and under the sea. Both were amazing. I really liked the flavour combinations. Lastly we also got the garlic fried rice which was also pretty great. Overall I definitely think this place is worth the queue..

I got the fun size with 2 toppings: croco milk and nata de coco. The croco milk added a nice crunchy texture to the smooth frozen yoghurt. The frozen yoghurt taste like normal yoghurt, which I'm learning that charcoal doesn't really have a taste? They also had children's toys to fiddle with. One bad thing was that the middle of the yoghurt cup is empty. That made me feel like I didn't get my money's worth.

The aburi chirashi don was amazing. The portion was so generous, I would say it's probably enough for 2 person. The fish was THICK, fresh and buttery, with just a hint of the savoury burnt taste. The rice was just the right amount of sweet and goes so well with the fish. This might be my new favourite Japanese restaurant.

The basic chicken ramen with an additional soft boil egg costs me $17.05 in total. They had an open concept kitchen where you can see the chef preparing your dish which was fun. Other than that, the service was pretty good and I got my food pretty quickly. The ramen was surprisingly good, I would say it's even comparable to menya musashi. The egg was just the right degree of cooked with the runny egg yolk. Overall, had a great lunch here and definitely would come back again.

It was fun seeing the flying noodles but I actually preferred the signature maki and tonkatsu fried rice. Make sure you have time to queue for ~2 hours though.

The flavours in the lobster broth are too rich for me. If I were to go back, I'll try the clear broth. Maybe I'll enjoy it more.
