With a rosti base, topped with some mango salad thing and a nicely packed ball of smoked salmon, sous vide egg and fish roe. I liked this dish, wasn't too filling yet satisfying. It's a simple concept but I would say it's a good combination of flavours and textures, from the juicy fish roe with the savoury rosti and topped with the flowing egg yolk. N

Would highly recommend this. The rice was so tasty I finished it quickly and yes it's good enough to be eaten on its own? Mentaiko sauce was pretty generous and the flavour was strong. Salmon was half-cooked which I really liked. Good for all those petite eaters cos the serving is small, but trust me it will leave you feeling very satisfied and even wanting more. Only thing is that the place is small and there aren't many seats so you probably need to just eat and zao

Finally managed to join in the hype! Queued about 1hr 15mins for this, but the food came really quickly so all's good! Ordered the Hitsumabushi (grilled unagi, or freshwater eel, over rice). Apparently we're supposed to eat this 4 ways: 1st portion as normal, 2nd portion mixed with the condiments and seasonings provided, 3rd portion with the dashi (they even give you wasabi to grate yourself!), 4th portion any way you like.

I know some people don't fancy unagi because it can taste quite fishy if not cooked well. Don't worry, this isn't the case here! The eel is de-boned pretty well and grilled to a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Which already brings it to a level of sophistication higher than your typical unagi dons! Really can't imagine eating even fresher versions in Nagoya itself.

Anyway, I was very impressed with the rice too, REALLY very soft and fragrant. All in all, I would say, do give this place a try. It's good.

$19.90++. I'm guessing that this place will have mixed reviews because the beef is served medium and cold. But I like it, it's as if I'm eating sashimi LOL. The side dishes and egg were quite meh. But the meat was tender, sliced thinly so each bite was shiok and not too overwhelming. There's a lot of meat (and rice too, so good luck finishing it HAHAHA). It's really worth the money!

A-la-carte buffet dinner tonight :) Their sashimi is definitely the star of the show. There’s salmon, tuna, swordfish, kingfish, octopus, scallops that’s extremely fresh, and served right from a refrigerated area so it’s not too warm or too cold! The cuts were sliced evenly and of the right thickness such that it is bite-sized. And it melts in your mouth 😍 Service is great too, the staff constantly walk by to take orders and clear plates. Ambience is awesome. Would highly highly recommend this to people who don’t mind a small quaint setting, and for people who don’t mind quality over quantity!

Simple dish but super comforting. Bite into it and you taste the juiciness of the pork together with the slightly melted cheese, damn shiok. Breaded crust was done just nicely too! Remember to mix with the sauce for the full combo 😋

Typical dish, nothing too amazing. Bread was nice and crispy but the chicken was pretty meh, could have been more flavourful. Popular supper spot, just go for their pratas!

This was a special yakitori set on the menu! We figured it was worth the price, $13.90 for a variety of skewers. Some were better than the others though. Out of all these, I liked the eggplant with minced meat the most, with the mushiness of the eggplant with the meat giving it the salty flavour! Otherwise, I find the rest of the meat cuts pretty average, they weren't as juicy and tasty as expected. Loved the sauce though, added a bit of sweetness to the skewers!

We got this because we thought that egg and cheese will never go wrong, and we were right. The egg was a success, because the texture was just right, not too hard and not too "nua". You can also taste the sweetness of the tamago!

Can see why this item was labelled with "chef's recommendation". It's so good! The salmon really had the melt-in-your-mouth texture, with the creaminess of the sauce. When you eat the fish roe and they burst in your mouth, the feeling is really damn shiok. Definitely will recommend!

just another avenue for me to post things cos I bored af lol
